2. Don't worry...
MANY states will vote in these backwards state amendments before it's over...it's a sign of desperation. You can't stop equality from rolling on forward. The sad part is - they are creating this huge mess we'll have to clean up in the future...wasting time and money trying to legislate against a more equal future.

3. When I despair...
When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love has always won. There have been tyrants and murderers and for a time they seem invincible but in the end, they always fall -- think of it, ALWAYS. Ghandi

8. The arc of the moral universe is long;
but it bends toward justice.
I like that sentence, by a guy named Theodore Parker.

4. find a willing partner, pull the covers up and make the world smaller
then act like a smoke jumper; i.e richard widmark in "red skies over montana", and let the firestorm blow by.

5. don't give up
Stick around and keeping putting a spoke in their wheel. It drives the freeps crazy when you live long and happy.

The conservation movement is a breeding ground of communists
and other subversives. We intend to clean them out,
even if it means rounding up every birdwatcher in the country.

9. Hold on there my friend and hear me out...
I have MCTD, on any given Dr. visit I am told all sorts of bad news. I am dying, very very very slowly and very very very painfully. There are days when my pain is beyond sanity or comprehension and all I want to do is drop dead, but that would mean losing forever those very things that define life. I cannot imagine never seeing my mother, father, or husband again. I cannot imagine a world without Mozart, Ms. Holiday, and Portishead. I cannot imagine a world without Nabokov. I also cannot imagine that whatever it is that I am here to do is done when I say its done, rather than when it is over.

Death, my friend, is not something you want. If you had to face it every day, every waking moment of your life, you would soon find yourself grasping for anything you could find just to stay alive. These people are not worth a cell in your body let alone your life. Remember that.

10. These are truly depressing times, but, pick up a good book, watch
a favorite movie, pet your cat or fix a cup of hot chocolate with extra whipped creme.

Find something to enjoy to temporarily take your mind off these dumb fucks. Then get pissed and ready to fight all over again.
