Pass the AG Bill (S. 359/H.R. 884)

AgJOBS may come for a vote in Congress shortly. Help farmworkers by urging your Congressmembers to cosponsor and vote for the bill when it comes to the floor.

AgJOBS (S. 359/H.R. 884) would allow undocumented farm workers to earn the right to permanently stay in this country by continuing to work in agriculture. With broad bipartisan support, AgJOBS (S. 359/H.R. 884) is a comprehensive bill negotiated by the UFW and the agricultural industry.

Last year, thanks to your help, there were 63 co-sponsors in the Senate. The bill reintroduced last month already has 43 Senate co-sponsors. Help us reach our goal of more than 60 co-sponsors! Send the message that we will not let the AgJOBS vote be denied this year!

The first easy step is to sign the petition!

The people who put the food on our table are often faced with fear and intimidation because many employers use the threat of deportation to ensure their silence.

Undocumented farm workers share the values that many of you do—they want to provide for their families and to live without fear. They could earn the opportunity over time through AgJOBS.

Sign this petition TODAY and urge your Congressmembers to enact AgJOBS!

Help us condemn these vilgilantes who amount to little more than bigots on the border.

The men, women, and children crossing the border today seek the hardest jobs other Americans don’t want, for pay and benefits other American workers won’t accept and under working conditions other American workers won’t tolerate. They sweat and sacrifice to bring the rich bounty of fresh fruits and vegetables to our tables.

The spectacle of vigilantes intimidating human beings who perform such vital labor for our country should prompt Congress to enact the bipartisan AgJobs proposal jointly negotiated by the United Farm Workers and the nation’s agricultural industry (S. 359 and H.R. 884). It would let undocumented farm workers in this country now earn the right to permanently stay here by continuing to work in agriculture.

1. Sen Craig cosponsor of S359
Cosponsoring bill to create an amnesty for illegal agricultural workers in 2005
Sen. Craig is a cosponsor of S. 359, an amnesty for agricultural workers. Of the 1.2 million illegal aliens currently working in agriculture, an estimated 860,000 plus their spouses and children could qualify for this amnesty, so the total could reach three million or more. The potential recipients of the amnesty would be required to prove 100 days of agricultural employment in the 18-month period that ended Aug. 31, 2004. Then, prior to receiving amnesty, workers would have to show 360 days of additional farm work over the next six years.

2. You forgot the word
Illegal, I disagree to anyone illegally entering this country. This is what is hurting the labor market in this country.
I have seen Americans fired so they could be replaced with illegals.
Who were paid much less. Is this what we want for America to become. Another third world country. You must be one of these rich farmers who uses slave labor for the greed of money.

God help us all.

3. This guy(Craig) supportedf tuition for illegals under 21 ......
Voted in committee to rewarding illegal aliens with in-state tuition and amnesty in 2003
Sen. Craig voted as part of the Judiciary Committee in favor of S. 1545, the so-called DREAM Act. S. 1545 would have granted in-state tuition and amnesty to illegal aliens under the age of 21 who have been physically present in the country for five years and are in 7th grade or above. Such a reward for illegal immigration serves as an incentive for more illegal immigration. S. 1545 passed the Judiciary Committee by a vote of 16-3.

Voted for comprehensive alien tracking and
identification system in 2002
Sen. Craig voted in favor of H.R. 3525, the Enhanced Border Security and Visa Entry Reform Act of 2001. H.R. 3525 will significantly reduce future population growth from illegal immigration by making it much harder for temporary visa holders to stay in the country illegally after their visa expire. H.R. 3525 provides for an entry-exit system in which every visa holder is checked with a biometric identifier when he\\she enters and leaves the country. This information is included in an integrated database that is shared by the appropriate law-enforcement officials. H.R. 3525 passed the Senate unanimously by a vote of 97-0 and is expected to be signed into law by President Bush.
