This thread pretty much sums up how I perceive it when people rip apart Dems like Clinton and Kerry for a bad vote or two. I know that the original poster's message was sarcastic, but if you took it seriously it would make about as much sense as the puritanical leftist mudslinging element that often comes out around here, screaming about how X person is no 'Republican lite' because they didn't vote 100% to the liking of the suicide doves, no matter how little their argument has in common with reality.

...sorry, no link. But it did get along without being locked, although I was certain it wouldn't. I'd say results were half-and-half: some agreed it was stupid to maul our own best bets because they weren't "perfect"--that is, because they hadn't taken the position on every single issue as their particular idol--the rest made the expected snarky comments twisting my post into a love letter to Zell Miller and Joe Liebermann.

All we can do is ignore the snark and keeping trying...
