News: Networks banking on religious-themed shows
LOS ANGELES - The Gospel according to Mel, as the TV industry views it, is that religion sells. With Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ" ranked among the 10 highest-grossing movies ever and with glowing visions of "The Da Vinci Code" profits before them, TV networks are embracing a newfound faith.

A miniseries about the Book of Revelation airs next week, while shows about a Catholic priest probing the supernatural and an Episcopalian minister who converses with God are on the drawing board.

Traditionally soft-focused spirituality, exemplified by "Touched by an Angel" and "Joan of Arcadia," is giving way to programs rooted in specific religions and their elements.

2. More crap?
I seen a book in Barnes & Noble (I sinned against god, I thought for myself) that was about the Christian themes in Star Wars. Seems as though Obi Wan was really Jesus. Sure.

I say let the Christians sell their religion. If they want that crap, let them have it. Over time, Christianity will be copyrighted and churches will owe licensing fees.

5. I don't mean to correct you...but!
You didn't 'sin' against G-d by thinking. That is why we have free-will. You 'sinned' against the religious right! Thinking is VERBOTEN!

4. I reserve judgment on Revelations until I see it

But I like Joan Of Arcadia very much. It's a good show. Watch it, if you haven't. It'll likely be canceled soon. It's nothing like Touched By An Angel. They have even made fun of Bush on occasion.

edit: Unless that article is taken out of context, the author of it is an idiot. Joan and Angel have absolutely nothing in common. Joan is an intelligent, philosophical show. Suffice it to say that Touched By An Angel was not.

9. Joam of Arcadia is an awesome show
I hope it isn't cancelled but it wouldn't surprise me if it were. I have never understood why networks cancel shows that do poorly on bad TV nights. It can't really make that much difference.
