Is it true that Bush is going to show up at the Pope's Funeral?
I was told this by my Mom, she said that she heard it on some channel, but I really don't picture Bush actually doing this. I mean over the past years I don't really recall him attending anyone's funeral, who was important outside the U.S., He just sent someone else to it. And also if he goes, it would probably major league piss off the fundies, who are his main base, I mean these people see the Pope and Catholics as not real Christians, and as going to hell. So it it true that Bush will be attending the funeral for the Pope?

1. It would be a slap in the face of our soldiers he's gotten killed...still
hasn't been to ONE soldier's funeral to date.

8. Well how could going to a soldier's funeral
boost his political support?

4. If the piece of shit thinks it will help his agenda, he'll go
Remorse or sadness has nothing to do with it - he would actually have to have a conscience and a soul to experience those feelings, and of course he has neither.

Bush gives Medal of Freedom to Pope John Paul II http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2004/06/20040604-3.html

George Walker Bush has romanced and continues to romance the ultra-conservatives of the Roman Catholic Church, of which this Pope was the highest of the high ultra-conservative!! GWBush will sink to any level for a vote.

5. If he does...
Edited on Sat Apr-02-05 09:13 PM by ocelot
he'll insist that the Vatican provide him with some absurd level of security, with all kinds of armed guards in St. Peters during the Mass, and helicopters flying overhead, and SWAT teams guarding the doors, kind of like when he last visited England. Wouldn't that be classy?

6. So I gather. But they're waiting for the official invitation.
Wouldn't it be nice if the Vatican accidently forgot to send him one, or decided that war mongers aren't welcome?

13. I posted this exact sentiment on another thread and
was dissed for saying it. Person who replied to my post said the Pope was a generous person who practiced love and forgiveness and that attending the funeral might be a humbling experience for chimpy.

As if.

Chimp could be in the company of every saint ever cannonized and it wouldn't make any difference. He'd still be a thoroughly evil SOB.

Isn't Bush's lack of popularity growing in leaps and bounds in Italy?

17. I think so...
I believe the Italians are still angry (rightfully so) about our trigger-happy checkpoints.

He doesn't care, though. He'll show up, if only because the Pope was a religious figure and Bush considers himself one as well.

Many think this is a sure-to-be-broken promise in order to help the conservatives in this month's local elections.

But considering that Cheney's health would preclude him attending it would probably be condiment.

back from the dry cleaners after the Auschwitz memorial fiasco; or if the weather is warmer, maybe he can show his contempt this time around by wearing bermuda shorts and a polo shirt.

18. Maybe he'll bring that trailer park trash ho' of a wife with him...
He's an asshole, and the POPE knew it and he despised him and regarded him as a war monger.

Bush and his vapid, drugged out, chain smoking wife, should just forget about showing up.

He would be about as welcome, as a couple of barefoot rednecks at the 21 club.

Go ahead and suck up to the fundies, that would be great.

God, I hate this asshole and what he's done to disparage the image of this once great country.

20. Completely off topic but
I love your bumper stickers and license plate rim. Makes up for the 4, yes 4, chimp/cheney stickers I saw plastered on the back of one van this afternoon which had to have been driven by one of the biggest "morans" in all of California.

25. I know it's off topic and I'm sorry
It's just a visceral reaction I have every now and then.
I just HATE them both and I react poorly anytime I see "BUSH" and a question attached to it.

And I too, saw this FAT manatee like creature, driving a mini-van with about three Bush-Cheney stickers on the ass end, and a couple of those "W" stickers to boot.

I'm in Kansas City so that's to be expected.

I wanted to run that fat tub o' lard off the road.

Sorry again. I just can't take it anymore!

That's my half baked prediciton. I guess it'll be clearer once we learn where the pope will be buried. Someone on CNN was saying he could have requested to be buried in Poland. It was up to him where he goes.
