For some chuckles
Not much to chuckle about this last 2 weeks. After the Schiavo circus closed down, we moved directly to the Pope and not only the nation but the entire world is on a 'Death Watch' right now.

I heard something earlier today around 11:00 A.M. Pacific time. Fox News made a major blunder in their reporting about the Pope. I am wondering if anyone else heard this. What happened..

As they were switching to a remote reporter, the mike was apparently left on that another reporter was wearing. She <not sure who> was yelling really loudly.."Doesn't anyone hear me, I've been screaming here..the guy is dead!!!" Then it went away..Very shortly thereafter, when they switched back to the anchor, the anchor began to report that the Pope was dead!!

I began to switch to all the other channels, which weren't reporting this at all. Finally CNN reported that there was a false report moving around that the Pope was already dead..and "one of the other networks was reporting this false information"..

So....holier than thou, always prefect, always righter than right, continued to make this report for a good 30 minutes, until they finally retracted it. How embarrasing...how funny...that the beacon of 'right and wrong' blew it so badly..

...and they talked so much about Dan Rather...I wonder how the egg on their face ever dried. Beyond that, what a tacky thing to have been transmitted to their viewers around this country and beyond. THAT part isn't a bit funny..!!!!

1. Look for a long thread about the pope.

Apparently, a lot of stations were reporting him dead, then retracting.

P.S. The title of the thread does not include the word "dead". I think it did in the beginning, but got edited because he was still alive.

2. I stayed home From school Today
(Cough Cough) and I was watching the news and I flipped past CNN and I saw that they were reporting the pope dead around 12:00-1:30 area and I like to flip around on the nesw to see whos all reporting it and fox was also reporting the Pope was dead so then i flipped it on MSNBC (My Fav) and they did not report the pope as being dead at all during the day.

Then CNN and fox came back to say that an italian News Agency got it wrong and it wasnt their fault, seems to me they jumped the gun a little found out they were wrong and blamed it on this unknown Italian News Agency.

MSNBC- Americas most Trusted name in News

3. they (news service of some sort) broke in today with the snippet
on either Steph Jones' show, or Al Franken's. Just said, breaking news, the pope is dead.

Then went back to the show. I looked around for a bit to read the details, and realized it was wrong when nothing else carried it.
