How much money will the Army waste advertising itself?

I was listening to NPR the other night coming home and they were talking about how the Army was in talks to get its name on the RFK stadium...per Ethel's decision.

The Army spokesman said something about "Getting our name out there"

Okay...unless someone has been living in a freaking cave...We all know there is a US Army....but apparently the Army hasn't figured out the obvious...

THE REASON ENLISTMENT IS DOWN IS BECAUSE PEOPLE DON'T WANT TO DIE.

and unlike WWI and WWII the individuals in this country, especially those of us who voted for Kerry, aren't keen on dying for oil and NeoConservative Colonialism.

So to pay $1.4 million dollars a year of public tax money to get the US Army name on a freaking stadium sounds like a good idea...how about giving that money and the rest of those PR dollars to the young men and women who are fighting?

3. It's not like they don't get enough exposure

But they will lose the majority of their enlistments because a scholarship just isn't worth dying for.
I am sure that people also aren't lining up for the National Guard now that its no longer innocent weekend fun.

So they are left with kids who actually believe they will be heroes, and kids who actually think it is cool to be a soldier.
Ninety percent of those categories usually wise up after their first tour, and consequently they will have a moral issue on their hands as well.

I see only one solution, we have to outsource our army. I am sure Haliburton is prepared and willing.
