53. Well, I listen to Thom Hartmann, Bernie Ward, Werbe, Taliaferro, so my
time is divided between AAR and KGO and radiopower.org.

And let me plug one of my favorites: the Guy James Show. :)

Ed Schultz -- during middays here in Portland, Oregon

I rarely listen after dark. I like KPOJ in general here in Portland, Oregon, but commercial breaks drive me away to the jazz and classical music stations.

36. I love Ed Schultz
First time I heard him on AAR here, I thought it was Limpballs (his vocal quality sounds a lot like Rushy) but then I actually listened to what he was saying and I knew it was not Rush.

10. I was very impressed.
I really was impressed. He "handled" the couple of RW callers very well. Of course, I look forward to how he'll handle the more venomous and mindless of callers in the future (i.e. wonder if he'll "manage" the assholes as well as Randi).

9. Yes, in my car. But...
I'm not crazy about it. The politics are fine, but the format is too close to the Rush BS--yammer, yammer, yammer. There are snippets of real news, but mostly it's just people ranting.

But the other option is NPR's Morning Edition and ATC. They do great in-depth stories--if you want to know about cooking or music or voting in the Ukraine. They've gone too far right in their news reporting to be of much use to me anymore. Just another form of fluff.

My favorite radio news is Amy Goodman's Democracy Now! but it has a weak signal at my house and the static makes it hard to listen to. :(

17. I like Janeane and Sam
I think Randi Rhodes is the best radio host. It is hard for someone from the other mediums to go to radio. I like Franken, but sometimes I feel transported to a 40's comedy radio show when I listen. I would like to see an AATV, or something of the like. Franken was great on TV, and I think Janeane would be a great new show talk type host. She always handles herself very well on the interview shows.

37. on and off...
During the election season, I listened to at least a couple of hours of AAR daily - I've cut down a bit, but I still like to catch Randi now and again. Franken is okay, but he wears on me for an entire show - he's better listening in short snippets, when I'm doing other things and can just catch what interests me.

... let alone Air America, which I stream when working at my desk, and definitely at home. I'm in Pittsburgh, a town that would eat up AA, but God only knows if it'll ever air in our market.

Malloy reaches my heart and mind. It's sanity in unison with those being driven insane.

51. Yes, when I remember to
I am going to make an effort to remember to tune in to Springer - I have heard him speak on other AAR shows and really like what he has to say. I like Morning Sedition; I'm glad Unfiltered is gone and just as glad the Unfiltered hosts have new shows; I listen to Al depending on the guests; Randi is fine for those who like her personality but I'm not one; I've never liked Sam Seder or the psychodrama between him and Janeane though they have some great guests; and I love Malloy but he makes me want to slit my wrists and I really don't need the encouragement these days. I don't listen on the weekends - I have tried but my schedule doesn't accommodate it, which I regret because I would really like to hear more Ring of Fire and Laura Flanders.

52. speaking of Weekend listening...
Mind you, I have a powerbook which I can carry around my small house as I cook in the kitchen on the week ends. Ring of Fire and Laura is some of the BEST talk.

Robert Kennedy and Mike Pap. are terrific, but Laura is probably the best professional I've heard. I really like the weekend format.

AAR is only gonna get better and grow. Maybe it'll come the the burgh on AM eventually.
