she's talking about removing the life support from an all but brain dead, equally incurable shell of a white woman in florida, in what was a private dispute between her parents and her husband but was turned into a media circus at the behest of opportunistic repuglican political operatives. that's what she's talking about, isn't it.

but she's right, much of america has a very ugly soul indeed. and people like her contribute in no small way to that ugliness.
