Anybody Catch The Threat In Tom Delay's Statement - Re: Schiavo ???
Wolfy read it, and had the text on the screen. At one point the screed says something like: "One day the men responsible for this will pay. But not today. Today we pray..."

Even Blitzed was shocked, and then read a statement from a Delay spokesperson describing what the Whip was really trying to say. (Yeah... right...)

Anybody see that? I've been searching the web, but haven't found it posted yet. Probably because it just came out.

1. What a pisser it must be
to be a DeLay Spokesman.

Repeatedly having to decipher bullshit into words that aren't even close.

SUGAR LAND, Texas – House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Texas) today released the following statement mourning the passing of Terri Schiavo:

“Mrs. Schiavo’s death is a moral poverty and a legal tragedy. This loss happened because our legal system did not protect the people who need protection most, and that will change. The time will come for the men responsible for this to answer for their behavior, but not today. Today we grieve, we pray, and we hope to God this fate never befalls another. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Schindlers and with Terri Schiavo's friends in this time of deep sorrow. ”

15. what does that statement even mean?
sure its catchy and can be easily repeated, but what is a moral poverty? and are there others we should be on the look out for? its like they speak in a completely foreign language than the rest of us....

8. Who's grieving for the 6 month old they took off of life support
in TX? This whole thing is just disgusting! If the family, or husband have the final say, and the courts affirm this, why can't our government just respect that?

12. Note he leaves out Michael
Which betrays his "family values" position. Michael is suffering over this as much as her parents, probably more because it was his decision. But Delay, the amoeba, doesn't have the guts to acknowledge that.

18. Who mourned for Christopher Reeve? Who will mourn for me?
Edited on Thu Mar-31-05 01:04 PM by Coastie for Truth
In foreign countries where stem cell research is legally permitted and government funded --- researchers in Canada and Israel are already beginning to repair spinal cord injuries with a "scaffold" or "template" technique using a stem cell derived therapy (that Weldon and Coburn would criminalize here - (looks like abortion, slippery slope to abortion?)

Who will mourn for me? - I am a type II diabetic - with "things in my blood and urine, some numbness in one leg and foot, and diminishing night vision." In foreign countries where stem cell research is legally permitted and government funded --- researchers in Canada and Israel are successful "managing" diabetes with a techniques for transplanting pancreatic islets of Langerhans using a stem cell derived therapy (that Weldon and Coburn would also criminalize here - (looks like abortion, slippery slope to abortion?). Who will mourn me.

Who will pay -- maybe Chris Reeves' dibbuk and my dibbuk will make DeLay and Frist and Weldon and Coburn pay.

House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-Texas, called Schiavo's death a "moral poverty and a legal tragedy."

"This loss happened because our legal system did not protect the people who need protection most, and that will change," DeLay said. "The time will come for the men responsible for this to answer for their behavior, but not today. Today we grieve, we pray, and we hope to God this fate never befalls another."

16. If that's the case, those men are:
George W. Bush
Judge Greer
Michael Schiavo
justice Clarence Thomas
Justice Sandra D. O'Connor
Justic Antonin Scalia
Chief Justice Bill Rhenquist
Justice Ruth Ginsberg Beyer
Justice Kennedy
and the other three justices (can't remember their name)

You can't pick and choose who will pay.

23. think it's a warning to Michael Schiavo or some type of message ...
like Bin Laden does when he release a video that includes a coded message to 'certain groups' ....wouldn't surprise me if it was signal to start the 'race war' or something....
