Tim Lahaye on CNN as expert on death?
I can't watch American news anymore. They are really trying to turn this place into a Taliban wet dream.

CNN has this nut job on and is giving him credibility having him rant on the TS case. This whole fabricated story is a fundie cirlce jerk and the media is trying to pass it off as a real issue and paint America as a fundie ruled bannana republic.

4. Saying that the most important thing about this case is.

Making peace with Jesus. Tim is the leader of a death cult, that is about the only thing that qualifies him to speak on the subject, and only then as a target of ridicule.

3. He might think if those in Terri's condition could hang on 40-80 years
they'd be raptured. That's LaHaye's time frame on the event he's making a fortune from by selling all those Left Behind books. Can't quite figure why my fellow Christians are so fearful of death. Maybe it's that verse that says "it's appointed unto man once to die and after that, the judgment." Perhaps it's the judgment they find so frightening. With good reason, IMHO.

5. The criterion for what goes on the news in this country
is not whether it is informative or credible. It is whether it is entertaining. Often, it is deliberately provocative, because you will keep watching. They like controversial commentators for this reason.

I remember a brilliant satire from The Onion that appeared shortly after the September 11 attacks: Nation Can No Longer Worry About Really Stupid Shit. The layout resembled a Time magazine spread, and referred to shark attacks and the like, which the news media was fixated on before the attacks.

6. CNN doesn't sell news, CNN sells advertising space
John Edward on FOX, Tim LaHaye on CNN.
MSNBC will have to interview an actual dead person to up the ante.

Are we done with cable news yet?

There is no 24/7 news, there just isn't. That's why these stations have to create their own and why we get stuck discussing trivial matters like the whole Schaivo case.

7. I saw him on some CNN special....he is one scary looking man...
He almost looks evil, if there is such a thing. Gives me the willies.

Why is everyone trying to out-God each other these days. It's a complete farce because if they really were Godly people they would be against the carnage in Iraq their Monkey Ass dragged us into.

8. Speaking of Tim LaHaye, does anyone know if that No Child Left
Behind name was picked out as a reference to his Left Behind books?
