Reporting on Terri's death....CNN still spinning...
..."So many doctors disagreed on her condition"

Bullshit! A couple of RW asswipes (including Frist) disagreed.

7. Balanced reporting murdered by CNN
I wish they'd pull the feeding tube from the biased, pro-Schindler coverage.

2. She's finally at peace
Thank you, God. I've been praying she would go peacefully and grant her wish.

She's probably going to come back in Poltergeist fashion and throw things at her parents.

3. Daryn Kagen has already defined Mrs. Schiavo's "legacy."
That legacy being that everyone will now sit down and discuss their end-of-life wishes.

What a crock!

Mr. and Mrs. Schiavo shared their wishes with each other, and look where it got them.

No legal document could have stopped her parents. They would have contested everything, no matter what.

4. That's exactly what they testified to in court...
including cutting off her arms and legs! That's when MS said, "NO WAY!"

9. Ummm... "discussing" is not the goal, "documenting" is.
that would be a fine legacy.

15. Advice
Make sure you know what the laws are in your state and make your arrangements accordingly.

The weak point in Mr. Schiavo's case was always that the court had to rely on his word that her wish was to have the feeding tube disconnected in circumstances like that. Apparently, that was good enough under the law; but that shouldn't make us entirely comfortable in all cases.

Florida law will probably be changed as a result of this. New legislation clearing up the ambiguity in cases like this one should be discussed. My fear for the people of Florida is that the right wing will try to ram through legislation invalidating living wills and mandating a "right to life" that sounds more like a legal obligation to live, even as a vegetable.

27. I agree.
Even with a Living Will, they would have contested and fought and protested.

However, perhaps they wouldn't have been able to drum up quite as much nutjob support.

5. that was to be expected
My $.02 - - I think the headlines should be reading:

"Terri Schiavo's Body Dies: Earthly Vessel Catches Up to Soul that Left It Years Ago"

just my opinion of the situation...not meant to diminish the sadness of the family or gravity of their situtation....may she rest in peace and her family find solace and strength in their grieving...

22. Good morning, fryguy,
You have put your finger right on the issue. Terri's soul left years ago; now her body will go also. It will catch up to her soul. And I also hope that her family can find the strength to go on also in their grieving...

8. And it's one of the worst, dumbest hymns ever!
"How Grating thou Art!"

Bad music for bad prople. The only hymn I find more irritating is "Amazing Grace," which is practically the national anthem of the stealth-racist white southern eeeeevangelical Xtian movement.

11. Amazing Grace.... Amazingly Ironical
...Amazing Grace... the national anthem of the stealth-racist white southern eeeeevangelical Xtian movement.

Since it was written by a reformed slave trader, who got Jeebus scared into him in a wicked storm whilst carrying slaves over from Africa.....

12. This family is unbelievable. Priest speaking for family is whining
that Michael wouldn't let the family in the room when she died. They were there 10-15 minutes before she passed but then were asked to leave so the doctors could do an evaluation. They wanted to come back in and Michael said no. He spent the last few minutes with her. I respect his decision. These people have made life a living hell for Terri, Michael, the judges, the other patients in the hospice and for the country and they just want to keep riding that horse. Their first thought after her passing is for them to run out to the microphones and cameras and complain about their "poor treatment." The priest then had to made the statement for us not to forget that this was murder. Wouldn't a dignified, somber statement announcing her passing been so much more appropriate and honoring their daughter's life? Of course, just didn't fix the wacko agenda. They are all despicable.

Anybody think there is a book in the making for these guys? Lecture circuit? Money grubbing whores. They need to go home and grieve for Terri, ask forgiveness for what they put her through and fade back into obscurity.

for all their shows. Tonight Larry Queen and all the spinmeisters will have their Terri-goodbye shows but then we'll get back to the REAL news....Michael Jackson.

Edited on Thu Mar-31-05 11:19 AM by Greylyn58
and may the people currently in Hospice and the workers who help there finally find some peace from this insane sideshow.

My biggest fear is that this won't end even though Terri has passed on.

24. The Shrub and his bro are unbelievable
Edited on Thu Mar-31-05 11:32 AM by Greylyn58
Jebby just spoke about Terri passing and now CNN has said so will Shrub.

SO....Let me get this straight, Shrub has sent thousands of our people to die in an insane war that should never have happened. He hasn't attended or said "ONE DAMN THING" about any of their deaths and yet he is going to go on national TV and talk about the death of one dead woman.

Boy this country has really gone round the bend. We are really in the Twilight Zone now.

:grr:
