Is Olbermann gone? NYPost says Tucker to get 8pm slot on MSNBC
Hey, that's Keith Olbermann's hour!

http://nypost.com/entertainment/22832.htm

TUCKER OUT AT PBS

THE weekly PBS series "Tucker Carlson: Un filtered" will end its one-year run in June.

The conservative commentator's upcoming nightly series on MSNBC and his relocation to New York made it impossible to continue, officials at Washington's WETA-TV, which produces the series, said yesterday.

"Tucker's series on PBS is smart and stimulating," said Jacoba Atlas, senior vice president of PBS programming. "We will miss having him on our air."

Carlson, whose CNN show, "Crossfire," was canned last year, will host a show on MSNBC targeted for 8 p.m. — Post Wire Services

34. Hey, folks, this is the paper that blurted "KERRY TAPS GEPHARDT"
Their gossip and media coverage is notoriously inaccurate. The Post is, however, very useful for lining the bird cage, wrapping fish and training the puppy...

Fits perfectly with the rest of the RW hacks on MSNBC.

I can only stand to watch Olbermann and Anderson Cooper - he's just so cute I can't believe it!!! I hope the rumors of him (AC) being gay are incorrect!

I guess it's getting time to get rid of cable. Wish Apple would come up with a video version of iTunes where we could just download the shows we actually want to watch - when we want to watch them. That way we won't indirectly support people like O'Reilly.

Right now, they don't have a show for 9pm. Dan Abrams has been filling in at that time slot lately.

12. I don't think so
Olbermann's ratings have been going up. It would be *stupid* to fire him - besides, Tucker doesn't exactly have the best track record for ratings...

21. When the war started,
MSNBC was afraid they couldnt keep up with Fox's flag waving with a liberal on the air, so they axed him, even though he had the highest ratings on the network.

This after forcing him to change his show and make it more conservative friendly.

25. Ridiculous
Although I don't seen any need to fire Olbermann for this reason at this point in time. It's not like the administration is very popular these days - especially after the freak-show we've had to endure over the past 2 weeks.

44. Yeah
I believe "Donahue" was their highest-rated show at the time they cancelled him. If they decide to cancel Olbermann to replace him with Tucker (exactly how many shows has he hosted/co-hosted in the last few years that have gone under? I can think of at least "Spin Room", "Crossfire" and this PBS show.), MSRNC will simply be showing their true colors once again.

22. Done
Here's the text of mine:

I just wanted to congratulate Countdown on its upcoming anniversary and say that this is the only source for news I watch on television. Should Countdown ever go off the air on MSNBC, I would be forced to not only stop watching anything on MSNBC, I would be forced to boycott any advertiser on MSNBC and write to them to inform them why I cannot buy their products any longer.

Keith Olbermann is the only show I ever watch on the cable news networks anymore. I read that his ratings are higher than that creepy jerk who comes on at 10:00pm (Scarboro Country :eyes:) so maybe Keith's time will just get shifted.

Edited on Thu Mar-31-05 10:49 AM by Shopaholic
Aaron Brown? I think he could totally kick ass in that time slot. I just don't think they'd can him at this point--his key demo ratings are among the best on the network, even with Nancy Grace's inexplicable rise in the ratings recently. He still has another year left on his contract with MSGOP too.
