Mel Gibson: Terri's Killing Is 'Murder'

In his strongest comments yet on the Terri Schiavo case, actor Mel Gibson calls her killing "nothing more than state sanctioned murder.”

Story Continues Below

He was also disturbed that a local Florida judge was given the unquestioned power to sentence Schiavo to death.

"All the big guys, they’ve got their hands tied by some tin-horned judge down there,” he said. "Common, when they want to whip a judge they got no problem getting Judge Moore in a heart beat.”

"It’s so wrong and I watch it, appalled and stunned, that we have gotten to this.”

1. but it's okey dokey
to kill someone as long as they didn't like your movie?

"I want to kill him, I want his intestines on a stick... I want to kill his dog." about critic Frank Rich

3. So Mel has empathy for Terri, but
as for The Holocaust and the thousands who died...well, hey, maybe it never happened. Mel's father is a denier. And Mel belongs to a particular fundamentalist sect of Catholics who reject the Catholic Church for being too liberal. And for instituting Vatican II. Part of the Gibsons' rejection of Vatican II is based on the apology from the Vatican for their treatment of the Jews before and during World War II.
So, Mel's compassion is suspect to me.

5. I used to love Mel Gibson...now I boycott him and his movies.
Braveheart was on cable the other night, and I would not even watch it.
I never, ever, thought I would be boycotting Mel, but here I am.
I thought he was a regular guy, but guess not.
