Local police 1; Jeb 0. Why hasn't this been given more airtime?

"For a brief period, local police, who have officers around the hospice to keep protesters out, prepared for what sources called a showdown."

The local cops would've stood their ground. Jeb backed down.

Poor Jebbie, he doesn't have the brass in his own personal Banana Republic, how terribly sad, eh?

1. Jeb Bush is and always has been a wimp about his public role...

2. Media won't report any failings of their Bushmasters. They avoid them
Did you ever hear a mainstream media outlet completely report the failings of Bush and Cheney before and on 9-11?

They just couldn't find a story there, I guess.

4. Because it was overblown.
There was never going to be any "showdown". "Show" would be a more accurate term.

5. Nice assumption.
The fact is some local law enforcement types actually take court orders seriously.

This is the exact sort of power play that leads to stand-offs.

But it didn't happen because one side backed the hell down.

Yet, even with and extra-judicial desire by neo-con fascists thwarted, nobody seems to care...

6. I made no assumption. It was reported on MSNBC that it was overblown.
Nobody "backed down".

MSNBC reported almost immediately that there was never going to be a standoff because both parties were well aware of what was going on and were discussing the situation via phone.

They spoke with a local law enforcement official who confirmed this.

7. Of course. That settles it. MSNBC reports are golden.
Whatever.

8. Dude, I'm not sure what your problem is.
MSNBC actually broke the "showdown" story live during another segment on location at the hospice, and one of the law enforcement guys IMMEDIATELY said that there was never going to be a showdown and explained the discussions that were ongoing at the time.

Obviously, you're going to believe what you want whether it's accurate or not. Feel free.
