Poll question: Is "the Democratic party" a damaged brand
GM executive Bob Lutz created quite a stir when he told big Wall Street investors that Buick and Pontiac are damaged brands and it might be a better investment to discontinue them instead of wasting resources to change them and their weak image.

Sound familiar? I'm starting to wonder if saving the Democratic party might also be a fool's errand. I've started to think the latter.

1. That's defeatism... Unless....
I have to ask, what have you done for our party lately? I am not making an assumption about your character, but I am genuinely asking if you are currently actively involved in strengthening our party....

2. It's nearly been destroyed by the DLC
and those boys are digging up antichoice assholes to run to try to finish the job before they go back to the pubbies.

We have to resist these creeps. The party can't win without its women, and it can't win without the working class.

Let's see how good a job Dean is able to do over the next 2 years at getting those conservative sons of bitches out of power.

Then we'll see if the party can be salvaged.

3. Its not a question of being damaged
Its a matter of the opposition having control of the means of marketting. Namely the media and flow of message reaching the public.

There is noting wrong with the Democratic party that forcing the freepress to do its job again wouldn't cure.

4. I remember thinking in August '74 that the pukes were finished.
There was no way they could recover from their disgrace. It turned out that wasn't the case. If they got past that, we can get past this.

5. DUPE! Nothing wrong with being Liberal or Democrats. The shame
is in being a repuke these days and undoing New Deal for the elites.

6. It can be saved. We just need a FAR better media operation.
