FYI Gannon/Guckert.......I smell a story cooking.
This is an FYI, sort of a bulletin to let faithful DU'ers know this is not a dead story.

"Watch for a big main stream daily paper OUTSIDE of the beltway to write about Gannon/Guckert in a big way."

It's not what I know, it's who I know.

The most heartening thing to know is that the story is NOT DEAD.

20. Good, it had better not be dead.
The whole story smells on so many levels it's hard to breathe around it sometimes. Even if he only had one sugar daddy in the White House, we know from testimonials on his website that he had satisfied customers in the upper reaches of military command. We suspect by the dead silence of the televangelist crowd that he may have had a few satisfied customers there.

And that's if our worst suspicions about this thing don't pan out.

But his story is not over with, there is so much more...

28. Thanks Redstone.....I was unbelievably caught off guard when I
"caught wind" of this development. I was not allowed to ask questions, and the ONLY fact I heard was that the "rag" had people working on the story and that it was NOT DEAD. Beyond that, I do not know when it will break.

It did not sound like it was imminent, in other words, tomorrow.

but I really feel like this story, and not the Congressional "intervention" into Terri Shiavo's death, is the Monica of Bush's "presidency." So I still desperately want it to break. Oh, and it's fucked up that Gannon/Guckert even exists.

Harold W. Andersen: Republicans have way to protest party's takeover by religious right

BY HAROLD W. ANDERSEN
WORLD-HERALD CONTRIBUTING EDITOR

For Republicans who consider their party a captive of the religious right on matters like medical research and right-to-die legislation and now legislative intrusion into the judicial system, there is a way to at least feel more comfortable with their political consciences.

That way is to leave a party whose leadership is currently attempting to leave behind in the dust of American constitutional history the principle of separation of powers that has served this country well for more than 200 years.

<snip>

I would think that I'm not the only Republican who feels the party's leadership has engaged in an irresponsible and perhaps unprecedented effort to subvert the traditional separation of government powers. How to express our disapproval?

I'm going to the Douglas County Election Commissioner's office on Monday to change my political registration from Republican to Independent

, while continuing to feel sympathy for Terri Schiavo and her parents and believing that the most compassionate course is to free her from her sad existence, Republican Party politicians to the contrary notwithstanding.

46. LA Times
There might well be hell to pay if it's the LA Times. Although their RW owner (Chicago Trib)has given them editorial independence over most things, I've heard it rumored that the Trib has tied their hands with re: to Guckert/Gannon. Their publishing Aravosi's work as a letter to the editor a few weeks back might be an indication that they're getting restless.

They decided to give Bush a free pass on this-just like always.

The media will NOT report on how corrupt they are, and DEMS are too afraid to call them on it.

This story is DEAD, folks-mark my word- dead and as unimpeachable as "Harkengate", "AWOL" "Enron-Bush", "My Pet Goat" "Bush is lying about the WMDs" and all the other lies and scandals that most top DEMS were too cowardly to go on TV and talk about.
