Sensitive thoughts on the Schiavo issue from our friends at FR
On Michael's Schiavo's safety:

Sorry, but the truth is that I won't shed any tears if MS meets with some, shall we say, unfortunate or untimely demise, and the way it looks, odds are that he will (#285)

On the subject of state intervention at the Governor's direction:

A firefight might have erupted. Well, bring it on. It's about time that LEOs learn that enabling corrupt judges and murderers might result in a bullet in the chest, which they well deserve (#293)

They are ok with murdering a living sentient person because that person is letting his effectively brain dead wife go to her final rest?

9. Sac Bee letters to editor are repeating the lie about Liberal judges are
ruining the courts and are bent on murdering Terri.
Even though Judge Greer is a Republican Baptist
The 3 judge panel consisted of 2 Rep and 1 Dem and the Dem voted for The parents
the 11 judge panel consisted of many George H.W. appointees as well as Reagan. Even the new recess appointee by "W" voted "to murder Terri".
The Supreme court that gave the pResidency to Bush voted "to murder Terri"
I guess the stupid will always be stupid. no matter how hard the FACTS try to surface.

25. The easy response to this is:
The judiciary isn't flouting the law; they're upholding a law you don't happen to like.

Florida Legal code says that, in the absence of a clear directive from the patient, decisions on life-saving measures are made by a list of people, in order of priority, starting with the spouse.

It could say "in the absence of written directives, the assumptions will be made that the patient wants to continue living"...but it doesn't.

It could say, "the patient will be kept alive as long as any living relative is willing to assume custody and responsiblity for care"...but it doesn't.

This law was passed by the elected representatives of the Florida people, and signed into law by the elected Governor. They could, and have had the opportunity to, change the law...but they haven't.

10. Simple. It's that whole "Culture of Life" thing.
Everybody deserves to live....

except Democrats, gays, "activist" judges, criminals, drug addicts (ol' Rush is ok though), welfare mothers, citizens of countries we invade, people without health insurance, pagans, and pretty much anybody else who doesn't agree with them.

But other than that, they're for life. Get it now?

Don't worry, I don't either... :wtf:

19. Send this to Mickey Kaus at Slate...
He just had an editorial about how it's LIBERALS who are most prone to violence because they're the most angry right now.

Ironic that he wrote this the week we had a man arrested on his way to shoot his way into the hospice to liberate Schiavo.

You just have to copy and paste. It's not like those posts were "dictated by the unstable and typed by the unhinged." is it?

No answer?

Hmmm, Peg must not be monitoring these threads on DU. Strange, knowing how fair and balanced she is.

27. It's unbelievable that these sites are advocating murder...
Edited on Sat Mar-26-05 05:06 PM by countryjake
& Florida officials, Jeb, whoever is concerned with keeping of the peace have not taken action to clear out the area around that hospice! They're calling the cops making arrests down there Nazi enablers for crying out loud, in public, on tv interviews, right in front of the place! If this were anti-war crowds, they'd have paddy wagons & armored vehicles in place already...I cannot believe the tolerance being exhibited for fanatics calling for death of public, federal & state officials, especially considering the attacks on judges in recent months. It's not just the extremists who have lost their minds!
