I think when our media call everyone who resists American power
an "insurgent" or "terrorist" they make it impossible for us to face the truth that the people of Iraq or other countries may actually see as the foreign invaders and not the benign supporters of democracy and freedom that we would like to be thought of as. In that delusion lie the seeds of our failure. Because it is a delusion. We are not what we claim to be. We want to subjugate other people. We want a compliant dictator to rule these countries and make it hospitable for our corporations to make money. If they refuse, they become the insurgents or terrorists and enemies of freedom. This scam has been going on for a long time and the people of the world are wising up. The game is over for Uncle Sam.
Don't be letting the people of the world know we've been acting like bullies. It is such a well kept secret. Venezuela is next on the list of countries who need their leadership replaced with an appropriate, business friendly bunch. Fascism is the only way to go. OK, turn your sarcasm meter back on.
Yes we are not. We are trying to save our asses from an economic meltdown... and I don't think that anyone would disagree with that. Using aggressive war to accomplish this task, might fly in the face of our founding fathers beliefs, not to mention one whom many who find no problem with this sort of behavior who was crucified for his adherence to non-violent behavior amongst other things.
3. The near unanimity with which our media peddle the idea that
American power is benign and that our rulers only have the best interests of other people at heart, is indicative of a totalitarian mindset.I have not seen any dissenting voices given expression in mainstream newspapers.
