bush offers condolences to Minn. tribe re: shooting
http://www.salon.com/news/wire/2005/03/25/tribe/index.html

Some American Indians have complained that Bush did not respond publicly to the shooting for four days. Just hours after the shootings at Colorado's Columbine High School that left 15 dead, then-President Clinton publicly expressed his condolences.

Bush's delayed reaction was in contrast to his swift intervention in the Terri Schiavo case. The president interrupted his vacation and hurried to Washington on Sunday to sign legislation allowing federal courts to consider the case of the brain-damaged Florida woman.

Bush has been mostly out of public view at his ranch in Crawford, Texas, since Tuesday night. But did not mention the shootings when he visited Western states on Monday and Tuesday to talk about Social Security. Perino said that Bush tried to call Jourdain a couple of times on Thursday but couldn't reach him. "I know that he got voice mail a couple of times," she said.

Perino said federal assistance to Red Lake so far has come from the FBI, which has sent 10 victims specialists to evaluate the community's needs for grief counseling, funeral arrangements and other financial help. She said the FBI has more than $200,000 to help victims of mass violence and can request more from the Justice Department Office for Victims of Crime.

1. Stroking Wall Street is so much more important than showing compassion.

bush, you are one disgusting waste of skin and oxygen. You have to be shamed into any decent act you commit, and then it's only for show.

edit: I make typos when I'm angry

2. Oh sure,,,,,,,AFTER everyone climbs on his back about it.................
what a fucking puss-wart. Four days after the fact and after MUCH public outcry, king george decides it might be politically beneficial to offer a few words of condolence.
This small minded little man isn't capable of managing a 7-11, let alone an entire country. :wtf:

6. I expect no more from him ...
... He is totally devoid of normal human compassion, insight and judgment... He never disappoints in his utter lack of humanity.

I do expect more from "us". I think we need to engage in a little self criticism; how much attention did we pay to T.S. vs this tragedy.
Search our religious forums, prayers for T.S. : yes (I am not implying that those involved do not deserve prayers). Where are the ongoing prayers for these people?

I have engaged in this as much as anyone ... I need to step back and asses what is most important to me also...

8. Political expediency strikes again
Until it hit the press that he had done NOTHING to acknowledge the tragedy, he had no intention of saying anything, after all, none of the victims had the last name of Schiavo.
