The info provided by Randi Rhodes on Randall Terry Friday was amazing, but I had to keep getting up from the desk to tend to things. Was she reading from an artical or some source that is online? Links? I can find nothing about it at her website.

Someone posted the story from last year about Terry's adopted son coming out and Terry kicking him out of the house. There's also a story about Terry's filandering that earned him a rebuke.

Of course the corporate media loves this guy since he is so over-the-top...screetching fire and eating his latest 15 minutes to the hilt. Many in this country haven't seen this scumbucket before...and it's time they got to really meet this Elmer Gantry.

I'm hoping Olbermann or Cooper will do a piece on this charlatan or, even better, a 60 minutes. Blow this goon's credibility and this could help unravel the wierd synergy this story has created...hopefully opening up moderates to speak out of their disgust with the strong fundie influence in the GOOP party. If this split occurs, we could have some fun in next year's elections.

Nearly half a million extra viewers have been flocking to the cable news channels every night this week since the drama became 24/7 news .

That's a 14 percent jump of the audience over last year at this time.

Does this sound like people interested in reporting or sensationalizing? However, I sense the public's interest in this story is starting to wane...and soon the corporate media will be back to Wacko Jacko and "faith based" stories to try to suck off the "desireable" Faux audience.

How these networks could allow such venom, lies, slander and misinformation to go unchecked, to have programs consistantly overloaded with right wing blow hards and then attempt to use lines line "Most Trusted Name In News" is sickening.

Randi lived in Florida and broadcast from there before coming to AAR in NY. I have the impression that she has many many files at her disposal and has discussed this case before-- more than a few times.

...the media loves him.

On edit: Perhaps progressives need to refer to him as "media darling" Randall Terry. As in "crazed fundy and media darling Randall Terry". Point being, it ties the CM and Terry together in such a way as to highlight the co-dependent relationship. It also opens a pathway to discussion of how Terry is often given free and unobstructed air time to spew his evil message and solicit donations while opposing voices and bad press about him are squelched or ignored. It is ALSO another way to subtly counter the "liberal media" lie.
