Another reason the Dems may get the military vote in 2004
I should think that the majority of soldiers stuck in Iraq will vote Democratic.

What are the Republicans doing for them? Nothing. Zilch. Nada.

A Democrat can work with the UN and get those soldier some much needed relief.

Bush is the problem. He's the roadblock.

The UN wants nothing to do with him.

1. The conventional wisdom seems to be
that blackbox voting will steal their votes if too many try to vote Democratic.

3. More Than R&R
Disparity of treatment of the National Guardsmen and the regular Army, low morale, Dimbo wanting to cut the VA benefits and combat pay.

I think most of those serving overseas are pissed and with good reasons.

4. I don't know, not with
the Pentagon giving the BFEE Saudi company control of the internet military vote. The junta would lose in a landslide without it.

5. Will they ever learn??
The veterans have been getting screwed ever since Reagan cut VA medical care and tried to throw "employable" people off disability pensions in the eighties. There has been ample opportunity for veterans and the military to learn that the GOP is out to cut their benefits and only cares for the military insofar as it enriches the defense contractors.

But the military and veterans organizations as a whole haven't learned yet. They have every reason to vote democratic and have for years. I'm hoping that for their own well- being and that of their comrades, past and present--that they finally come to their senses. But I'll believe it when I see it.

6. If John Kerry Is The Democratic Candidate...
...those absentee Florida military ballots will very definitely be cast in his favor, not for the chicken-hawk in the White House.
