Friday, March 18, 2005 Pro-Peace event...after work...in the city that works 24/7....

THANK YOU, DETROIT !...the MOTOR CITY demands an end to bush* wars...along with the CATHOLIC ARCHDIOCESE ! Thanks to Archbishop Gumbleton for testifying in support of those troops who REFUSE TO GO BACK TO IRAQ....

People in Detroit commemorated the second anniversary of the Iraq war on Friday March 18. After the march down Woodward and the reading of names of the war dead, war resister Camilo Mejia delivered the keynote address after being introduced by Catholic Archbishop Thomas Gumbleton.

-snip- from the Catholic Archbishop

That's what Camilo did then on March 15, one year ago he publicly declared that he was not going back, he submitted himself to the army and they immediately arrested him. He was determined however also tried to resist the war by declaring his deepest beliefs that this war is wrong and that all war is wrong. and so he chose to submit a request for conciencious objector status and I was involved with him in that and was able to testify for him.
