A former prosecutor in Fulton County, GA, cited for multiple instances of prosecutorial misconduct.

If you're charged with a crime, Nancy thinks you're guilty, and would just as soon dispense with all that trial by jury and guilty beyond a reasonable doubt nonsense.

former prosecutor and victim rights advocate who was on Court TV and now on CNN apparently. She is very assertive, but I don't know why anyone hates her, except that she is opinionated and likes to argue, which one would expect.

She is apparently a Democrat.

There were a lot of posts with misinformation in previous threads on her, for instance, that she said Risso had murdered Elizabeth Smart, when in fact she did not, and she even said if a police rumor was true he probably wasn't "the guy."

I can't verify the current posts because I haven't been watching CNN, but either Grace has changed and gone completely wild or there has been some exaggeration.

On the Schiavo case, both sides seem very intolerant of one anothers' views and even of those who are undecided. I myself was hounded for withholding my judgment in a recent thread.

You and I already went back and forth on the Russo thing, and I pointed out clearly where she stated she thought Russo had something to do with the Smart abduction. The other stuff wasn't misinfmoration, either. Just because you reject it doesn't mean its false. You're talking about irrational hatred, but you seem unwilling to even accept cold hard facts. It's kind of like "Lalala, I can't hear you". I mean, she was found guilty of prosecutorial misconduct, and more than once for crying out loud. And, a one time donation to a Democratic candidate does not a Democrat make. But, I don't know why I'm bothering typing all this.

41. It's documented that Grace said Risso is "not the guy"
if the rumors about police investigation were true. It's on the CNN transcript, and it shows that Grace was considering several scenarios, not just one scenario.

I am sorry, but I do not remember your posts, so I can't discuss them with you now. There were numerous people who posted to me in that thread. I don't know what your posts said, but I know some posters have definitely posted misinformation.

Also, I think it is unfair to post only statements that make it seem as though Grace had a fixed opinion that one scenario must be true. That is misleading, because it gives the impression that she said he was guilty, as some bloggers have claimed. Some people apparently just read certain blogs and accept what they say without checking the actual transcripts.

Some other people have posted that Grace said things that she did not say at all. I am not saying you did, but I have seen people do that. It's character assassination.

40. Let me tell you why people have strong feelings of dislike for....
...this person.

First, she is never fair and balanced in her reporting of legal matters. Her commentary makes it VERY clear that she never met a defendant who deserved to be treating as innocent before being found guilty. IMHO, she goes out of her way to talk over anyone that has a different point of view on any subject.

Additionally, there is at least one reason why she no longer practices law in Atlanta. One of those reasons involved her courtroom behavior, behavior for which she was criticised by at least one judge.

I'm surprised that anyone could believe that she is a Democrat, unless she is of the Conservative "blue dog" Democrat persuasion. People like that are nothing but rightwing Republicans in all but title.

Grace has been around for a while, and I've never seen her any different than she is today.

Edited on Fri Mar-25-05 09:13 AM by CindyDale
Whether you realize it or not, you are saying what I said, that people find it difficult to accept that she is opinionated and assertive. So we agree.

I don't think any mistakes she made in Atlanta have anything to do with what these people think. BTW, the judge's opinion you are referring to was given after she left for Court TV.

If you're not in love with Michael Schiavo, you can't be a Democrat, I guess. I'm not in love with him, so I guess I'm not a Democrat, either.

7. "The Name Schiavo will go down in history w/ the likes of Scott Petersen..
...OJ Simpson, etc."....(said on Nancy Grace's show last night by the so-called "spiritual advisor" (one of the Catholic Brothers in his brown hooded robe and tie looking like a monk) and then Nancy Grace with her snide little snarl nodding her head in agreement added " You can add Robert Blake to that list"...

It is absolutely outrageous the things I have heard said about this man who clearly loves his wife and has been dedicated to her. The worse thing is that they say slanderous and unsubstantiated claims (that have even been dismissed in the courts as not being legitimate and credible) and then you have the complicant media whores like Nancy Grace (who claims to be a lawyer following the letter of the law) even giving these people air time and instead of being a jurist or a journalist and asking questions that challenge these claims, they sit there nodding in agreement, giving these liars airtime and adding to the claims....

I think if what that Schindler Family Advisor states that the name "Schiavo will go down in history w/ the likes of Scott Petersen and OJ Simpson" (clearly an accusation that Michael Schiavo is a Wife Murderer and Philanderer) and then has a media person adding Robert Blakes name to the mix, he should have every right to fight back against these people and protect his name from people who are clearly hell bent to make his name with the likes of Petersen, Simpson and Blake et al and paint him incorrectly as such, all based on false allegations and lies.

I hope his lawyers are preparing and gathering the evidence as we sit here....They accuse him of wanting money (when there is no money to be gained) but I think if he gets any money, it should be from all these media whores and right-wing nuts accusing him of being such heinous things as a wife killer.

I for one would be happy to contribute to Michael Schiavo's defense fund to go after all of them.....The first person to go after is NANCY GRACE and CNN.... :grr:

19. Nancy is a great victims advocate. I have never seen more people
watch a show and then complain about it. Perhaps the trick is she does not expect to be liked. Or that she is a representation of what crime victims really are (forged by steel and not about to hand away there empathy to anyone they have no reason to trust).

Still the most popular of Larry Kings guests.. by far!

violence right before they were married. The guy got away with it, so she is a little testy. She is always fighting for justice and never married. She still tears up when she talks about it. I've always liked her, she can be tough. Then again she was a prosecutor in Atlanta, hard to be a tough woman in the South. I'm sure they call her names.

The fact that she was willing to engage in misconduct as a prosecutor shows a much greater concern with winning than with justice.

She's a little like the zeal of Mark Klaus. Has anyone seen this man spew his venom? He's certifiably NUTS, a loon. Really, if he goes off on someone, I don't want to be anywhere around him.

Instead of working through his grief, like all sane and thoughtful humans, Klaus chooses to nurture and relive his hatred upon any NEW upcoming court case involving kidnapping and murder of a child.

Damn! Mark Klaus needs an extended vacation because he's scary, in a very bad, harm your personal safety way.

I've never seen another human being express such PURE hatred and DESIRE for revenge and retribution. Give Mark Klaus a rest, will ya, corporate media?

Nancy, in a similar (but not as up close and personal way as understandably Klaus) way TAPS INTO that self-righteous pride and hatred of a family member seething for retribution.

Nancy's a tool. I hold no respect for her integrity.

38. Perhaps she felt the best way to get ahead in the legal world was to....
....get convictions any way that she could, and disguise that tendency by appearing to be a victims advocate. She never met a defendant that was innocent until proven guilty, and she makes her one-sided opinions very clear. There is a reason why she stopped practicing real law and became a "shrieking head" on television.

I'm sorry, but Nancy Grace has been fooling people for a long time and her act is getting very old.

31. I used to. Whenever I found out she was replacing Larry King,
I just shut off the TV and left the room. I couldn't stand her either. But then I happened on a Larry King show when I learned about her background. She was in graduate school, studying to be a teacher, when the young man she loved and was planning to marry in two weeks was shot and killed during a robbery, getting refreshments for his co-workers. Nancy dropped out of school and could never return. This is the reason she became a prosecutor. She has ever married and this guy is still the love of her life. She subsequently went to law school and prosecuting guilty felons has become her passion. I feel differently about her, having heard all this.

It's like the Rolling Stones song, "Sympathy for the Devil": "Who killed the Kennedys? After all, it was you and me." We are all responsible for terrible things that happen in our society in one way or another.

That's social philosophy, though, and philosophy is as simple as ABC compared with criminal justice.
