GOP adviser died of overdose (Stevens - coke and oxy)

http://www.davidcorn.com/2005/03/gop_lobbyist_od.php

Republican media adviser R. Gregory Stevens, who was found dead in the Beverly Hills, Calif., home of actress Carrie Fisher on Feb. 26, died of an overdose of cocaine and the painkiller OxyContin, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office. A spokeswoman at the coroner's office read to The Washington Times portions of the report, which was completed Friday.

-snip-

Mr. Stevens, 42, was an associate with the powerhouse Washington lobbying firm Barbour Griffith & Rogers and had traveled to Los Angeles to attend the Academy Awards. Mr. Stevens was staying at the home of Miss Fisher. The two were longtime friends. Both attended a star-studded party at the home of film industry agent Bryan Lourd Miss Fisher's former husband -- the night before his death.

-snip-

Mr. Lourd had no comment when reached by The Washington Times. Mr. Stevens, with strong ties to the Hollywood entertainment community, served as the head of the Bush-Cheney Entertainment Task Force for President Bush's recent inaugural. Barbour Griffith & Rogers, one of the co-founders of which was chairman of the Republican National Committee, held a memorial service for Mr. Stevens earlier this month. He was a native of San Clemente, Calif.

No scandal when a top GOP lobbyist--who works for a powerhouse firm founded by Haley Barbour, former RNC chairman, current Missippi governor, and possible GOP presidential candidate--ODs on cocaine and Oxy? Sounds like a good start to a page-turning thriller to me.

did he OD or was he ODed?

1. What are the odds
that the MSM will even mention this?

I say 1 out of 100.

3. Way too generous odds...
I'd say we're more likely to see a come back tour
by Elvis P... or perhaps find life elsewhere in
the Universe... or develop an alternative eco-friendly
fuel...

Ohhh, I'd say about 1 out of 1 Fantastincredibazillionquintillon.

Before the MSM/CRM reports this story.

Sorry to be such a pessimist... But, I'm through with
the lot of them.

2. If Oxycotin is obviously so damned addictive, why isn't it PULLED?
Why is such an addictive narcotic being sold/prescribed? I have heard way too many horrific stories about that drug.

4. It's used to control pain...
... there are few things as effective.

It's not the drug, it's the misuse of the drug.

6. as I have said before
People with that kind of power, often have no conscience, and alot of charm that is why they seek power to begin with. It's a game and a rush for them. It's making people jump,it's domination,it's playing"elite" it's getting away with it and still being trusted by the people as a good person or an authority figure.
One thing about sociopaths is they seek alot of stimulation(they have stunted capacity for feeling) so they take stupid risks and con people and take drugs alot.
This is just what they are their characters are so flawed they are incapable of sound judgment, kindness or acting with consience..If you look at the sorts of crimes and whatnot people who gravitate to power or fame over others get caught doing (often its sex crimes, drugs, fraud, abusive or other reckless stuff).A pattern comes out they are operating with varying degrees of success at hiding what they are..but they are, sociopaths.

A successful sociopath becomes a CEO or president terrorizes a nation abuses their spouse, does drugs and no one who would expose this creep is none the wiser and they act out until they crash seeking that win,or that rush..
An unsuccessful sociopath is just like the successful one except he's less intelligent or prefers another type of game..they too abuse their spouse, get drunk and violent, or terrorize a neighborhood the big difference is they are not master manipulators they stay small time, get caught and restrained.

7. More proof that Republicans are "family values" politicians.
How much more hypocrisy will the average voter stand before they finally "get it"? Republicans, as a whole, are the most cynical political animals roaming the Earth today.

Sorry he OD'd, but this is so typical of a group who don't practice what they preach.
