diagnos me dr frist........per email from drivedemocracy
Dear DriveDemocracy Member,
Are you sick? Injured? Worried about a medical problem, but can't afford a physician? Well, worry no longer! Because Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, MD, doesn't even need to see you to make a diagnosis and prescribe care.

Speaking on the Senate floor "more as a physician than as a U.S. senator," Frist said he believed there was "insufficient information to conclude that Terri Schiavo is in a persistent vegetative state."

He didn't even need to examine the tragic Florida woman who has been fed artificially since she was brain damaged in 1990 -- he just looked at her on videotape.

Now, the LA Times reports that "critics say the majority leader...overstepped in giving an opinion on Terri Schiavo's condition." Apparently it's a bio-ethical no-no to diagnosis a patient you've never seen. And some people say it's arrogant for Dr. Frist to involve the U.S. Congress in the personal medical decisions of one family just to suck up to the religious right before the 2008 presidential primaries.

But we say, think of the opportunity!

Take a digital picture or video of your medical problem - tennis elbow, acne, runny nose, gout, or whatever ails you - and send it to the Doctor in charge of the US Senate and your health care.

Tell Dr. Frist you want him to diagnose it and get Congress to pass a law prescribing treatment.

We couldn't find Dr. Frist's email address, but we're sure his Health Policy Director, Dean Rosen, (Dean_rosen@frist.senate.gov) would be happy to pass along your pictures and videos. Health Policy Director? Is that like his nurse?

You can also try his Legislative Director, andrea_becker@frist.senate.gov, the Communications Director in the Majority Leader's office, bob_stevens@frist.senate.gov, his press secretary, nick_smith@frist.senate.gov, or one of his Legislative Counsels, jim_hippe@frist.senate.gov or andy_olson@frist.senate.gov.

Or feel free to mail to 509 Hart Senate Office Building, Washington, DC, 20510, or fax to 202-228-1264.

thank you,
Glenn Smith, DriveDemocracy.org

1. hah! I remember a "doctored" picture of someone with
their head up their ass.

Dr. Frist, that was not a picture of someone with advanced scoliosis, DING thank you for playing.

3. He Should Be Called On Ethic Charges
This goon has mislead and lied all throughout this fiasco for his own personal gain.

First, he's not a neurologist, he's a cardiologist (and a shitty one)...and has as much knowledge about this issue as the rest of us.

If anything, the "good doctor" should keep his yap shut in areas he has no expertise in. If he had done this shit to my family, I'd have a lawyer ready to throw a suit at him for misrepresentation and quackery.

This also goes for Weldon, Snyder, Norwood and all the other "doctors" in government...many who haven't practiced in years and have little to no training in neurology.

4. As another poster said:
send him the grossest thing you've got: warts, scars, ass boils.

For the record, any physician publicly doing what Frist has done should have his or her license to practice revoked. He has NO ethics and should not be allowed to practice the SCIENCE of medicine.

5. Can the AMA do anything about this?
Edited on Thu Mar-24-05 01:13 PM by kliljedahl
There has to be something they can do to him for violating ethics. Can they revoke his license to practice? Is his license even current? Can he "practice" medicine where he's not licensed? Lots of possibilities as I see it.

Better yet, if he can diagnose that well from video, just think what he could do if everybody complained of bowel problems and sent him a stool sample.

9. here
is part of the email someone sent and copied me on it....

Dear Sen. Frist,

With your permission, I would like to send you a picture of my left
toe which I had a surgery on and there are couple of titanium
screws in place to hold things together. I am having some pain.
Would you be kind and to look at those Polaroid pictures
and give me your prognosis, or, would you rather to have a
video tape (should it be in VHS, Beta-max, or DVD format)?
BTW, do you practice in male urinary track fields, too; or just
in brain related matters?

LOL!
