Will this case cause some fringe group to do something crazy inthe future? There is a danger to whipping people into a religious frenzy.. You'd think they'd have learned this by now.

7. I feel badly for the DCF workers involved if this is what happens

They are just employees, whose job it usually is to investigate nursing home abuses and relatives who abuse dependent adults. To be injected into a political firestorm is hell. They would face arrest for violating the judge's order, or firing for violating the Governor's order by not interceding. I hope they have a good union.

6. When will the culture war become just that?

I am very afraid that if not this case, another case will cause there to be actual violence in this nation. I don't know which side will start it. There are liberals feeling like the government should be ousted and there are consrvatives feeling put-upon, a feeling that's being stirred up by many in power. Add to that the possibility of terrrrist attacks and I just don't feel very safe or optimistic for the future. And I live in DC, so I'm not so sure that I will be out of harm's way. It's scary.
