Judge George Greer's bio says his roomate when he as in college was.....

http://www.sptimes.com/2005/03/06/Tampabay/Quiet_judge_persists_.shtml

Just don't ask Greer about his college housemate Jim Morrison, the legendary front man of the rock 'n' roll group the Doors.

Nobody took Morrison in stride, not even Greer.

He moved to a house about a mile from the FSU campus with a friend and some students he didn't know. Greer described the house this way: "Jim Morrison and five normal people."

One Halloween, Greer recalled, Morrison greeted children out trick-or-treating at the front door completely naked. Morrison had lighter fluid in his mouth. He spit it out, touching a match to the fluid to create a roaring flame.

"The poor little kids ran screaming to their parents," Greer said.

2. It is weird how many "famous" people of the time ran into each other
Al Gore and Tommy Lee Jones were roomates at Harvard
Sandy Berger was part of Hunter S. Thompson's group in Colorado back when Hunter ran for Sherriff
Tommy Franks and Laura Bush are both from Midland Texas (George later)
W dated Tricia Nixon at one point
The "I have a dream" original draft of MLK's speech was left on the podium and alertly picked up by young George Raveling (later a basketball coach at Iowa and So.Cal.)

7. Another one-Jimmy Johnson and Janis Joplin
Johson was the football coach at U of Miami (FL) and the Dallas Cowboys. The both went to jr.high together in Port Arthur Texas and had classes together.

8. As a former Hawkeye I was a huge Raveling fan
(boy, did he get shafted). I had never heard that story. I haven't heard much on George these days. Wonder how his health is?

Anyway, another odd example, Rick James and Neil Young were in the first band (respectively) together. Fairly dichotomous, yet fitting in the Greer/Morrison tradition and like the others you mentioned.

3. Too funny.
If that happened now, the Lizard King would probably be labelled a sex offender and child abuser.

Of course, when he died, Jim was awaiting sentencing on public indecency charges in Miami, although there are those who claim he never died.

4. Another "funny" part of this bio
"George is the religious right," said lawyer David Kurland, a longtime friend
