why do those who enthusiastically support the killing of over 100,000
healthy, innocent men, women, and children in iraq and afghanistan suddenly get upset over the life of a person whose never going to wake up?

talking bout the fundies, politcos (yes, both sides) and media.

i can't even begin to wrap my brain around hypocrisy (is that word i'm looking for?) of this magnitude.

oy.

i live in the stupidest country on the face of the planet. :eyes:

1. Didn't you know?
All people in the middle east are guilty of terrorism. They don't belong to the right religion, Christian fundamentalism.

5. Don't forget Poland!!! This reminds me of the difference
between Jessica Lynch and a certain female soldier of a darker persuasion.... the hypocrisy, partiality, inequality, favoritism, and just plain unfairness is a testament to the fact that the crazy people are not all locked safely away in institutions. Many of them run this thing called America.

Mommy.... what did you do before you married daddy???

7. It's a little thing called 'hypocrisy'
It enables one to get apopleptic over one vegetative woman and the so-called 'sanctity of life' -- and the immediately scream for the murders of doctors who perform abortions, the execution of children, the retarded and the likely innocent, and the indiscriminate bombing of civilians in the name of 'bringing freedom'.

1. she's white
2. she's American
3. she's a she

The fucking hypocrisy is clearer than a motherfucker.

10. It's not stupidity
Edited on Thu Mar-24-05 07:34 PM by incapsulated

It's fanaticism and racism, which knows no logic and is therefore filled with hypocrisy.

Or intelligent.

Many of the Nazis, fanatics and racists by anyone's standards, where doctors, judges, educated people.

13. Simple mass psychology
One person is a tragedy, 100,000 merely a statistic.
The real face of the suffering Iraqis have never been shown to the American idiots.

14. Quite a few of us oppose that killing *and* the killing of Terri Schiavo.

But we don't have much company here on the Schiavo killing.

At FR, of course we wouldn't get much company opposing the killing in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Maybe someday both sides will seriously question why they support any killing.

16. Because the shit is starting to hit the fan, and *'s political capital
is spent. DeLay's going down like the Titanic and will suck the little hangers-on down with him. What better reasons than that to throw a pity party for Terri Schiavo?

The only good news here is that the Republicans are finding only themselves among the guests. The rest of the country would rather stay home or party elsewhere.

i'm just amazed that the groups that are so outraged about whats happening in fl were/are totally silent about the slaughter in iraq.

20. There are outraged groups on both sides of the issue
The ones on Michael Schiavo's side likely include antiwar activists, and the others are Xtian culture-of-lifers who are much more motivated to pass judgment on everyone's personal lives than they are to bother about "heathens" of an "evil" faith thousands of miles away who may appear to them to be undeserving and unappreciative of US beneficence.

For the rest of the public who are not camped outside Terri Schiavo's hospice in view of TV satellite crews, I think that the politicians who have driven this issue to the brink of constitutional crisis have shown their true colors to the most politically brain-dead among us. They will wear out their welcome, and more and more voters will decide that the Republicans have been in power too long, just as they said about the Democrats in '94. It took the Dems 50 years to convince voters of that; you have to give the Republicans credit for alienating the public five times faster.

Because they are Islamics and Islamics in the Bible are haters of God.
Read Ezkiel 38-39 which tells of the coming future war between God and the Islamic countries that make an alliance against Israel and God destroys them.
That is when the rapture will occur and shortly after that will be the world war III which will be the Armegeddon.

I believe that the fundies are trying to "rush" the rapture by using bush's lust for oil and world domination. If the case, I am sorry to say, to mock God that way will have some devastating results for them.

that would support why they (fundies) would sit back and accept the slaughter of 100,000 innocent men, women and children.
How can they be against abortion but for the massacre of women and children?
