Consultant predicted a `huge mess'

As the second hurricane in less than a month bore down on Florida last fall, a federal consultant predicted a "huge mess" that could reflect poorly on President Bush and suggested that his re-election staff be brought in to minimize any political liability, records show.

Two weeks later, a Florida official summarizing the hurricane response wrote that the Federal Emergency Management Agency was handing out housing assistance "to everyone who needs it without asking for much information of any kind."

Democrats in Washington said the records confirm suspicions that the federal government used the hurricanes to funnel money to Florida, a key battleground state in the presidential election. "They weren't really asking for information, yet they were just doling out this money like it was Christmas," said Lale Mamaux, spokeswoman for U.S. Rep. Robert Wexler, D-Boca Raton.

Florida thought, over the miushandling of payments to the victims. Many did not get the help they were promised by W and Jeb. They also seemed to keep w in the Orange Groves, away from the people with'blue roofs'.

surprise no one at all. They're trying to do damage control to keep Jebby from too much ugly exposure. After all, he's the heir apparent to the neocon throne.

the rule with these guys.

This story is not to be found in our US corporate media. It has apparently been blacked out. On whose order, I wonder? :eyes:

Michael Moore has picked it up on his site and so has Wes Clark. I stumbled on it accidentally a couple of days ago on a UK newspaper site. Googling showed it is common in other countries' news, but totally absent in ours.

Press censorship - we can't fight what we don't know about! it's insidious. So like I said, spread the word! I will try to write some updates and when I do I'll post them on that original thread about the logging story.
