How many people die EVERY day for lack of insurance????
We should demand the Repugs rush to THEIR aid and attend all their funerals when they die. These people are as sick and demented as you can get and still remain on the streets.

Oh, never mind....Reagan put all the mentally ill out in the streets. I forgot. Guess they all went into politics.

Hey Jebbie...WHY DONT YOU SPEND A LITTLE TIME LOOKING FOR ALL YOUR MISSING KIDS IN YOUR FOSTER SYSTEM...YOU JACKASS.

2. I have no link or source but
I read somewhere ( i think it was a health care newsletter) that 18.000 to 20,000 die each year due to lack of health care. The article noted it was 6 to 7 9/11s per year.

5. The study is called "Care Without Coverage: Too Little, Too Late"

More than 18,000 Americans die every year solely because they cannot afford private health care insurance. This is the finding of a new study entitled “Care without coverage: Too little, too late,” which compares the health of insured and uninsured adults in the US, where 30 million—or one out of every seven—working-age people lack health care coverage.

The study, conducted by the Institute of Medicine (IOM), a private organization affiliated with the National Academy of Sciences, paints a chilling picture of the consequences of America’s for-profit health care system. More than 40 million people, including nearly 10 million children, have no health insurance, and the number continues to grow at a pace of about 1 million each year.

3. I was nearly one of them. Long story, but I'll cut it short:
The insurance company "pre-approved" the angioplasty when the hospital called, even though they didn't pay for it. I had to declare bankruptcy, but I am alive.

If the insurance company hadn't "approved" it, I wouldn't be here now; simpla as that.

6. I'm glad you're still here.
And that you were able to declare bankruptcy to start over.

7. What did we do before health insurance?
For starters, we didn't pay $82.50 for two aspirin and plastic cups used during an overnight hospital stay.
Health insurance for the average American never existed until 30 years ago.
Corporate maggots created mandatory health insurance and we are helping it grow as a rights issue. They are laughing all the way to the bank.
