How long till the Bushes violate Posse Comitatus and send in the Troops?
This whole episode has shown to anyone paying attention that the Bush boys absolutely think they are above the law.

How long before uniformed military is employed to help the Bush boys get their way on a domestic issue?

16. Clearly it's an overreach, I wondered about civil unrest...but
the desire to keep this out of politics is large and broad apparently throughout the country. I don't think this is a Ft. Sumter event.

If there is a secessionist movement it might be in theGOP.

Coming on the heels of the failed 2005 SS reform tour went this must hurt. The Bushistas are not only looking out of touch, they are looking vulnerable.

6. Jeb's press conference clearly threatened intervention
The lady from state services explicitly stated that they have the authority to do something.

So, I guess the question is, is Jeb going to back off? If so, what was the purpose of the press conference? Will Jeb lose face?

I hope he ends up getting impeached!

4. Judge Greer acted first
by ordering law enforcement to prevent entry of Jeb & Co. to the hospice.

7. How long before Greer is removed from office or is
found shot to death in his home? You know there are nutters out there right now considering ways to eliminate the "activist" judge.

I'll apologize in advance if this offends anyone - but I'm pretty sure Greer has already received death threats.

21. Looks like Greer resigned.
Edited on Wed Mar-23-05 07:28 PM by NYC
Judge George Greer...has withdrawn his membership at Calvary Baptist Church in Clearwater, Fla...

...Rice, who became Calvary’s pastor last September, confirmed that a letter from Greer withdrawing his longstanding membership was received by the church March 17.

Rice...said he sent a letter to Greer several days after the judge commented about his church involvement in a front-page article in the St. Petersburg Times March 6.

...Rice said, “We communicated about his relationship with the church and his public statements that he had withdrawn from the church and statements that he had made in the paper about his relationship with the church..."

Rice...offered to meet with Greer but instead received the judge’s letter withdrawing his membership.

...(Greer's) attendance faltered after a Baptist publication the church supported became highly critical of him, he said.

“Greer, who said he had other unrelated problems with the church, said he explained to a deacon, ‘If I don’t like what the St. Pete Times writes about me, my only recourse is to cancel my subscription.’ So he stopped his donations to the church, though he is still a member.”

The publication Greer was referring to is the Florida Baptist Witness, newsjournal of the Florida Baptist State Convention, which first editorialized about the Schiavo case in September 2003 and since has carried several editorials and an extended number of breaking news stories and in-depth reports about the right-to-life case that has generated national and international attention in recent months...

Edit: BPnews stands for Baptist Press.

Maybe both of them ought to sue.

(I mean Michael Schiavo, not his wife.)
