1. yeah and the Republicans have a "final solution" for it.
This is just one of the reasons why I don't have cable.

3. I saw that ad yesterday
I saw it yesterday and yelled, "raise the cap" during the entire commercial. My wife came running in and asked what was wrong and I told her some more damn right-wing attempts to brainwash America.

4. Framing: the underlying assumption in that wording is that...
... this is an urgent problem that needs to be solved.

Dems better learn to stop fighting on Repub-controlled turf. Frame the discussion around the real issues, and not the hype, and then we stand a chance.

Otherwise, we'll constantly be playing defense.

7. "Our plan is already in place and working"
Courtesy of Nite Owl. :-)

And my humble response: Brilliant!
Social Security is doing fine, it just needs some maintenance work to keep every thing working smoothly. In fact, regularly scheduled maintenance is needed for most things worth having.

If George wants private retirement accounts, let him put forth a plan. He hasn't. And I don't think he can. We can't afford it, unless of course, we raise taxes or create a new one. And you know what the anti tax lobby thinks about that.

The Republicans have no S.S. plan, unless it is to destroy it. They have a partly formed idea about retirement accounts.

10. We don't need no stinking Republican SS solution.
Democrats created Social Security and have made it the single most successful US tax payer funded program ever in history.
