9. Please hang in for Clinton......Tom Harkin and his wife's speech are great
as a "Pre-Clinton Warm up.!" I don't think you all will be disappointed. I've been around to hear many Dem speeches......tonight is worth all of them. They had me in tears....Clinton.....is magnificent......for all his flub ups.....and problems and the couple of policies I think he was so wrong on: NAFTA/ FTC DEREG........

This Speech of Clinton's is NOT TO BE MISSED! I had tears running down my face.....I don't cry easily.....It's BEEN SO LONG!!! And, he doesn't even read from a "telepromter" ........it's off the cuff.......he can do it......CHIMP IS AN IDIOT...

Look at what We DEMS HAD! IF ONLY CLINTON HADN't SCREWED AROUND.

This speech is Clinton at his BEST! Why the man won two elections agains everything the Repugs could throw against him. Yes! I have problems with how he let us down......But, I can listen and feel good about why I'm a Democrat when I hear him speak......for this .........tonight .......I'm very thankful.........I am.

...Saddam bin Forgotten? LOL, Dean went right over to Carol's ear, whispered something, and she laughed. On that note, Carol seems to find it impossible not to smile, hehe, that's a very warm trait.

...Osama, and yeah, Graham made a good speech. It just seemed like Dean made a joke about it to Carol, lol. He also pursed his lips when the mic went out as Graham was speaking, as it seemed he was trying to keep from giggling. Gahhhh, cut to the Big Dog's speech!

22. I disagree - Dean likes/respects Graham
He was agreeing with Graham - they have similar views on the fiscal/foreign policy/war issues, and when he leaned towards Braun, it was to show appreciation for the Osama bin Forgotten bit. Bank on it.

graphs in the crowed for must be 5 minutes....and then Harkin....so if you don't have patience have dessert...or whatever you do on Saturday Nights.....and then come back to Clinton's Speech....Or, set your VCR or TIVO and just wait to review it.

It's so good.....and I'm not trying to"set up to disappoin"t anyone on DU by going on about this....but it's just so good.

Unfortunately, I missed CMB and Kerry, but I'm sure they were outstanding, just like the ones I did see. I have my favorites, but today, I love them all. Well, the ones who are present, anyway. ;)

In a little while, the Big Dog will give one hell of a speech (stick around for it -- it's worth it), and he will talk about the strength of this field. He is right. They have all made me proud today.

The build up on DU from a couple of posters was this was some GREAT event. I hate to rain on the parade, but so far - this is run of the mill rally stuff. But, Bill's just started - maybe there's something here that will make it worth the wait. Just my opinion.

without the hindsight of GATT, NAFTA, WTO, Welfare Reform, Haiti, Kosovo etc... I would vote for him again because Bill is a great man/ leader and one of the most charismatic politicians of our lives.

He said that if the average person was simply 'aware'. Let's make them aware...

I think DU'ers in every state should/could take note of the 'talking points' make flyers and distribute them on cars in malls etc...

at DU? Or have one of our own create an educational website with links/refs and the printable flyer.

I think we could distribute them when we go to the mall/shopping/church whatever?

Thoughts...???

Should we start an idea / discussion thread?
We have DU-ers in every state. Each of us can print and distribute a certain number weekly? I think WE can really have an impact.

He spoke so plainly, made jokes....completed sentences...

And what a message--I'm so glad that he realizes that Americans don't know what's going on, and that he shares my thoughts on the Sunday talking heads who don't express outrage with what's going on...

Even Republicans drink water! Awesome.

62. fantastic clinton he just set the narrative for the '04 "who do you hire?"
watching bill clinton talk extemperaniously for 25-30 minutes, i marveled at him as he moved quickly with his attack on the fundamental "conventional wisdom" that all the current democratic canidates are "small" by casting such view points as merely a sign of ignorance. it was a feat worthy of cicero.

but the two strains he spoke of his were clearly his opinion of what the cornerstones of the rhetoric the democrats should use as powerful weapons against the GOP and conservatives in general.

1. you must win locally.

2. make the presidential campaign about a decsion the voters have to make on who they hire in novermebr 2004.

63. It's good to see heartland Democrats braving the rain in support of
their leaders. Hopefully there will be a replay tommorow for those who missed today's telecast.

71. Dang.
I missed it. Tuned in right at the end when Clinton was shaking hands with the crowd on his way out. Anyone know if/when this will be replayed? Thanks.
