Answer this, Christian churches teach hellfire and that some persons will
wind up there but if when a person dies they are said to be at peace and are assumed to be better off if they died in a suffering condition, how will they feel the fires of hell if they are peacefully asleep which really means unconscious?

1. Go to church, and ask a minister
That's what they are there for

Edited on Tue Mar-22-05 10:37 PM by RPM
deny them decent crayons, and otherwise intimidate them into good behavior...

you mean they answer questions too?

On edit- what are you doing in GD anyway....

9. I think
Y'all are confusing true God with those who claim to know it all. Or use God these days for political gain. That's the truest evil in my mind.If you sincerely have questions, find a godly teacher and ask.

12. Hauser wasn't so bad.
Edited on Tue Mar-22-05 10:58 PM by JVS
He just had a bit of a scary looking German vibe going.

Also, I doubt Hauser had any political gain in mind. Some people are just hardasses, it's the way God made them ;-)

He also stuck to a good traditional liturgy with none of that blurting out names bullshit

16. Sometimes I think that the reason we were scared when Hauser peered down..
from the pulpit was that often we were engaged in bad behavior and were afraid of being caught. The pencil-fighting incident comes to mind.

Last time I was there, they didn't do it. It's gone back to the old way.

5. /nod
The one and only correct answer.

We don't like the thought that this is all there is, we want to believe we'll see our loved ones again. Think it as primal self-preservation at it's most psychotic.

7. Do some basic research
Christian churches don't teach hellfire. There are consequences though, if you've chosen to live apart from God in this life, chances are your wish will be granted in the afterlife. With God absent, the afterlife will be a completely miserable, terrifying place. A person who dies is at peace since their physical pain in this life is over. We will all die, you know. And very few of us die easily. Just like there is pain in childbirth, there is pain in physical death. Truly, if you have questions....ask as many people as you can. And read.
