So I finished reading "What's the Matter with Kansas?" and
i have to say, that while it was a good read - i wish Mr. Frank had spread the message in his last chapter throughout the whole book.

I think he is right on the money (pardon the pun)when he says that the Dems have gone wrong by embracing Big Businesss a la the DLC. By taking the economic issues off the table, and becoming republican lite, all we’ve done is leave the people a choice between social issues, which the republicans are using as a wedge. it's easy to get a bunch of people to be "good christians" when you have cultural issues to frame in a Good vs Evil manner.

Now this is nothing new to those of us here, and bringing it up again most likely won’t change things, but the only resolution I see for this is Campaign Finance Reform.

1. Next book to read is Lakoff's book, don't think of an elephant.
It took much of what Franks was writing about and expanded on it. At least for me. I think Franks didn't go far enough, he's a real good primer for the situation though.

2. Yes Do!
The one thing i do disagree with in Lakoff is his use of father mother dichotomy. I would call it good parent, abusive parent, because for me, the current mindset of both the Republican and Democrat/Green/Progressive independent mindsets.

6. I think that's what he says really. At least that's what I got from it.
