He was totally animated about how terrible this decision was - agreed that Republicans do and SHOULD stand for states rights. I got the impression from him that it may have been the stupidest thing he's ever seen the Republican party do.

It's amazing how the Rs give equal weight to their gasbags and anyone else. They'd never do that with Dan Rather. It's a way for them to elevate the status of their spokesmen. And it's pretty silly in a divided country where half of the people think one thing and the other half think the oppposite on any given issue. In this case, they're equating some RW media hack (who's so far down the ladder that I don't know who he is, and I'll bet a lot of others don't either) with one of liberal America's greatest spokesmen.

Why not say "Jay Severin agrees with (fill in the blank with one of 60million other names)"?

Of course, if Severin isn't a RW gasbag, none of the above may necessarily apply...

Him agreeing with Barney Fag (remember that gaff?) is unbelievable - this is a watershed issue that actually united the Repukes and Dems against the government overstepping the Constitution!

Several guys in my wife's office listen to Rush at work (very inappropriate) and I asked her about it and she said they haven't said one word about it. They usually love to tease her about those silly liberals (which she isn't).
