People should leave Barack Obama alone!
Why are people so enamored with Barack Obama? I know he is young, articulate, intelligent, and a good looking guy but let's get back to the young part. I cannot stand people out there that think the good Senator from Illinois should run for president in 2008. He has just started his career in federal politics. He needs at least a good couple of senatorial terms before any thought of the presidency comes out. I would not even bring him as a VP candidate. Let him do his job and 2-3 terms in the Senate and then you can talk the White House.

John

1. I agree
He's got a great future. We don't need to rush it.

But... I haven't seen a whole lot of people here or anywhere, for that matter, pushing him for 2008.

4. And he may yet prove content to remain in the Senate. . .
No problem there. We need articulate, intelligent, good looking Senators, too. We need more of those than we need presidents, since there's 100 Senators for every President -- more, if you count off-year elections.

So far, other than a good speech and some intelligent comments to the press, Mr. Obama has not proved his mettle for the Presidency. He may never do so, and instead remain within the Senate. History's replete with many highly-effective Senators who never tried for the White House.

I think we should all give Mr. Obama room to grow -- into his job at least, into a legacy if that's to be his choice.

6. Yeah - the Dems need to save him and not let him be a martyr to
the cause. When you go up against evil it will kill. So he is young and full of promise and he should be saved. The ones who should take on the monsters should be the Democrats in full Armour and who have had a chance at a career in politics.

We don't want our young to be destroyed. And if obama keeps his head down they cannot target him or if they do it will not look good in the norther states.
