Anyone catch Jim Lehrer talking to Lawernce Tribe on Newshour tonight say.
in regards to the Schiavo case Tribe was arguing against some Republican guy...appearances, Republican guy was very well spoken, had his talking points down...Tribe was all over the place, I coulda done before myself...imo...he seemed embarassed to be arguing that her wishes should be followed, I don't get that!!

ANywyas...

Lehrer says, and I KID YOU NOT...he said to Tribe...

"EVEN THOUGH YOU ENDED UP ON THE WRONG SIDE..."

AGHHH!! So Tribe goes ... "WRONG SIDE?!?!?"

Lehrer hems and haws...oh, well I didn't mean wrong side, oh never mind, and basically just shrunk away from the question...

Does anyone know where to get that transcript...it was quite something to hear...on the WRONG SIDE...GGACK!!!!!!

You know, you need to send any info on this to Randi Rhodes. Just yesterday, she was telling everyone how great his PBS news show is.

edit: I believe that you can order printed or taped transcripts from PBS.

2. Check pbs.org
or call your local Public Television station.

If he really said that, he deserves to be flogged.

I'm surprised Larry Tribe wasn't brilliant. He's a remarkable legal mind. It may be that this case is so damn obvious, it's really hard to keep restating all that's already been said.

For me, anyway, and I'm no Tribe, the facts of this case got boring quite a while ago, incontrovertible as they are.

19. Tribe, as you might expect, was interrupted frequently
and it seemed to me, shorted a bit on time. They haven't posted the transcript yet, or I would check.

3. Yeah, I saw it
Lehrer tried to correct himself and finally just said never mind. The guy debating Tribe reminded me of a Fox news anchor.

half assed mea culpa tomorrow night, he did that about 6 months ago when he said something very partisan sounding, can't remember what it was but he got flooded with emails and calls and did an about face the next night.

11. I heard it, but I think Lehrer misspoke. Here's what I think he meant to
say. That is if you were on the other side..... I don't think Lehrer meant to imply that Tribe was on the wrong side.

15. I thought he was refering to when he represented Al Gore
before the Supreme Court during the 2000 election and he meant to say the side that didn't win.

18. I don't think they were talking about Bush v. Gore at all.
It's like I knew what Lehrer was trying to say but he couldn't get the words out.
