The Great Thing About What The Dems Did Today
is that it differentiated our party from the monsters on the other side.

Now, for once, we stand publicly against Big Nanny Government trying to dictate to families how to manage private medical decisions.

Michael Schiavo and his attorney should be publicly and loudly applauding the Democrats and fuming at the Republicans. One party now stands for private spousal rights and the other party stands for federal government intervention.

Kudos to our House members. Let's hope they keep it up.

1. YES!
That's how important this is. At the press conference today, Frank, some Florida Dems, and others said that more Dems will show up today in hopes of real debate about this.

2. Why are we called nannies anyway?
Seat belts, cigarettes, drunk driving. Was there something else that the Dem Party came out against that caused us to be called nannies?

13. We keep giving money to feed children, and we want
Big Business not to endanger them unnecessarily, with unsafe products or chemical pollution. We even want to help poor people, and the elderly. So we want to baby Americans (like nannies) instead of making them pull themselves up by their bootstraps.

3. Why don't the republicans invite in the world's top 10 relgious....
...faith healers and have then each practice their faith healing powers to bring Terri Schiavo back to fully sound health much like William Branham did during his lifetime of Pentecostal healing and ministry from the 1930's until his death in 1964? Who might these persons be? Well here is a partial list:

Benny Hinn
Oral Roberts
Joe Zesski

This is the perfect time for god to assert his existence. A perfect test case I'd say. If Terri gets up and starts dancing around, then we'll know. I can't wait.:bounce:

5. I think the republicans
were quietly hoping that the Dems would play along on this one. They were hoping that the Dems were scared by all the "moral values" crap the media has been spewing, and that they would just let the Republicans grandstand and spew their "culture of life" bullshit without anyone challenging them.

Big kudos to Wexler and Frank, et al. This IS about moral values. The moral value to tell government that it has no fucking business in our private lives.

Sometimes you have to take a stand. You can't play "safe" forever.

12. I believe Michael Schiavo
spent about seven or eight years caring for his wife non stop. When he realized she was essentially brain dead, he started the process of trying to help her go with dignity. And he moved on emotionally. He is still honoring that process for the woman he loved. I admire the guy.

27. You know, lizzy ...
I've followed your M. Schiavo bashing from board to board, and I'm trying really hard to get a grasp of where you actually stand. I am aware only of snarky, self-righteous judgments of a man you don't seem to know. One minute you accusing him of not being faithful enough - and the next you suggest that "he must not be particularly smart" for staying that long. Do you know the guy? Do you have some personal beef with him? Are there elements of this tragic saga that only you know of? Seriously ... I'd love for you to post your take and shed some light with more than a sarcastic phrase here and there.

Our party is standing up for the privacy rights of the individual over the rights of intrusive government. Wexler, Frank, Schultz et al deserve our thanks.

26. And, what will the Right blogsphere do?
They will revert further and further inside the Conservative Echo Chamber, enraged not over a reckless, badly planned screw-up that backfired on them, but from the notion that they lost again to the Democrats!

http://wizbangblog.com/archives/005422.php

While the Democratic leadership is holding their own and bamboozling the Republicans, we've got to call the Right bloggers on their lies and distortions, too.

Post the Schavio Fox Poll on their blogs or at Freeper Central. Same for the ABC News article:
