Honestly, there are a lot of threads on this topic. They are getting out of hand. I just hate being told what should and should not be discussed, here. Peace is just as important to me, but why can't I discuss both it and the Schiavo case? I happen to believe that the right to die is an important issue, and I hate that the repugs are trying to take that away from us.

Yes. I read the thread. I still don't see why that means we can't discuss Schiavo's case as well. Obviously, you are free to try to attempt to shame anyone else from discussing other things you think aren't worthy. But, it won't work on me. Gossip, indeed.

For the record, all I did was point you to a thread. You feel outrage about that. I am employing my right to speech in pointing to another poster's argument. Whether you read it or not is your choice.

Since you asked what that had to do with the Schiavo case, the only logical conclusion I could come to is that you had not read the post. The posters point was whether or not you want to advance Tom Delay's agenda or advance progressive causes. The choice is yours.

And it is gossip. This is a private issue that rightly belongs with the Schiavo's and Shindlers. The Right has made it into a political issue and fodder for endless gossip by a nation of busy bodies that think they have a right to decide what a family should do in a very difficult and private family tragedy. The question is do you want to take part in that or not. Evidently you do, which is your prerogative. I for one am tired of letting the Right dominate the political agenda, even on DU. If you want to send the message to the MSM that this is what we care most about, continue posting about Terry Schiavo.

But, the politicians changed that. They wrongly made it political, and it makes it fair game to discuss when they're using Schiavo as a stepping stone to strip rights from the rest of us. This isn't a Scott Peterson kind of diversion, because the ramifications can affect all of us.

When I clicked on the thread, it was about protests. Could I have been directed to the wrong thread? I thought it was yet another post about how discussions of Schiavo at DU are nothing but diversions and mean nothing to anyone, and I strongly disgree, which is why I took issue.
