But I'm very concerned of the precedent that's being set as we see congress and the president messing around with stuff that should be left as a private decision by Schiavo's family or something determined by a court of law.

The person's life is important, but this should not dominate the headlines. Too much of this shit is taking over the media...the Atlanta shootings, steroids, Michale Jackson, Rob Blake, Kobe Bryant, the missing girl, Laci Peterson, ect. These stories should be LOCAL NEWS, not national news. Our media is fucking us every day they feed us this garbage instead of what is really important in our society.

11. when Bush said he cared about the disabled

While trying to cut SS benefits to the disabled, and cutting Medicaid, and refusing to do anything about health care at all; I started to care. Then when I found out the breathing tube was removed from a baby by a hospital and not the mother, the legal guardian, I cared some more. Then when Congress decided it could overrule a state court, I cared even more.

We're losing our right to make our own decisions on medical care and we don't even know it.
