"Is our political system officially in anarchy?"
With apologies, and appreciation, to Placebo, I am posting his/her question from an LBN thread on Frist and the Schiavo controversy, along with responses, for discussion here. I think it's a good question.

1. Is our political system officially in anarchy?
I mean, really. It's like we have no order anymore. All the rules are just thrown out the window at will by these traitors.

5. I know what you're saying -- it's like things are out of control...driven by an all-powerful minority of religious zealots and right-wing extremists. It's like nothing is out of bounds anymore -- the bizarre is increasingly commonplace.

9. Might be a good thing to let the Repubs do all the damage they can to be seen eventually for what they truly are. It is hard and many will suffer but sometimes it takes suffering to get better.
I would surely hope that people would see that many doctors have attended to this woman in person and Frist only by picture, now tell me who would you believe. Is he saying that all these Doctors are mere incompetents? Lord help us all!

12. With a wannabe dictator and war criminals, what would you expect?

53. Yep, it's gone
"No little judge down in Florida is going to overule the Congress". Delay said something along those lines earlier today. There are no checks and balances, no state issues, no nothing. These renegade republicans are in complete control.

3. When do we have a staged "Reichstag Fire"
to allow Bush to seize martial law control.

--I do not buy into the conspiracy theory that the Bushies staged 9/11 or even knew specific tactical details in advance -- so 9/11 doesn't count as the "Reichstag Fire."

4. Anarchy would be an improvement
over what's going on now

5. Watching the criminal DeLay on CNN now -- we are in anarchy --
courts, the rule of law, separation of church and state, Reason...looks like it's gone. We are in the hands of an extreme political faction, a minority, with a bizarre and undemocratic agenda, and we have no power against it. I am in utter despair.

6. Anarchy would indicate a complete breakdown of
and destruction of any existing authority, kind of like Afghanistan and Iraq are today. We instead are being ruled by a single party, dictatorship of idealists, blindfolded to any other ideas than their own. They are systematically eliminating any opposition in positions of authority, like the recall of Grey Davis as Governor of California and the replacement of one of their own operatives in that position of authority.

7. You're right, Cleita, technically, and in truth --
what I am feeling, I think, as well as others, is powerlessness, and a sense of everything spinning out of control, that feels like some form of anarchy.
