No Republican Will Ever Make Medical Decisions For Me
I'm thinking of actually adding a clause to my living will that would explicitly disavow any politician or political body from having any jurisdiction over the private medical decision of my family.

I want to make sure that I don't end up like Terry Schiavo, and that no one that I love ends up like Terry Schiavo.

1. Good luck
but this is all about ending any sovreignty you have over your own body, or your relatives have over your medical care.

Even now, I've seen living wills challenged by relatives that have come out of the woodwork at the last minute, screaming for heroics and threatening lawsuits. Sometimes the docs cave. The only defense up to now has been a durable power of attorney and/or a living spouse at the bedside.

If the heavy hand of the GOP nanny state intrudes into this case, it will set a horrible precedent for all of us. Healthcare workers at all levels will be put into a dreadful position, caught between the wishes and needs of dying patients and the big Baptist nanny in Washington DC.

Sometimes I truly despise Repuglican Christian soldiers. It takes a great deal of effort to feel sorry for people who live in that kind of nasty, narrow, humorless, vindictive, petty, greedy, and cruel little world.

2. And it is very sad to think we may have to put a clause
in a will to combat that. Maybe the actions of the Republicans will wake up our citizens. If I had not already become convinced we are headed to a one-party rule, this would have done it. I am over being shocked that they would react this way. This is strictly political and I hope it backfires on them in a big big way.

Take it from personal experience...The HMO gatekeepers are very Repug...and they can and will put one in their grave.
