Bill Maher is back on my good side
Tonight's show was good, many different logical opinions and questions. Best of all it was mostly funny, Bill's forte.
Tonight was going to be my last show if it proved like last week's.
Happy to say it was one of the best.

3. I dunno, fell asleep and woke up when he was "on the phone"
with "a liberal" woman who wanted abortion on demand and the father was Michale Moore and other idiotic things - not funny at all. Was my last show.

4. I completely disagree.
Edited on Sat Mar-19-05 01:59 AM by FreepFryer
He had an audience full of republicans (pepperdyne repub club, 'jewish repub alliance' (whatever that could possibly be), and a bunch of other 'clubs' of what are undoubtedly a pack of assholes who applauded every lie that oozed from their fetid corporate cock-sucking orifices), and 3 of his 4 guests were republicans, and he rescued them from almost every tough question he posed.

I'm not sure if this episode was a 'gimme' or what, but I found it weak in the extreme.

Sorry for the intense vulgarity, but I find the overwhelming stench of Republicans' lies intensely vulgar.

9. I complete agree with you!
Not to mention Maher's monologue didn't even make me smile let alone laugh...He was not funny. I couldn't stand the smell myself, I turned it off...I don't think I'll tune in again.

14. Maher did not stir the pot with them
He kept the show on "fluff" topics and wasn't as critical of Bushco as he has been in the past. I agree... he was not funny. His monologue sucked, the phone calls were stupid and the panel was about exciting as watching paint dry. New rules was decent.

15. He "wasn't as critical of Bushco as he has been in the past" because he
now says he thinks Bush probably did the right thing by invading Iraq...I heard him on CNN and some place else, I forget where, say this....He completely ignores the fact that 100,000 Iraqi innocents were killed to "get democracy."....I think he has muddled thinking....

5. I think he has dangerous ideas.....Since I heard him say
Edited on Sat Mar-19-05 02:21 AM by glarius
Bush may have been right to go to war against Iraq....Saying Bush is looking to the future and his thinking is ahead of we mere mortals (words to that effect)....He seems to think the war was acceptable if there is a democratic government in Iraq, no matter that it was bought with 100,000 Iraqi lives. I suspect he would approve of Bush attacking other countries, without provocation too, as long as it overturned a non-democratic government....Sorry, but after listening to him a couple of days ago spouting off his praise of Bush, he leaves me cold....

6. The thing that bothers me about Bill
is not that he has changed his mind about *, rather, he has changed his mind and totally ignored facts in doing so.

Virtually every comment made on tonights show was inaccurate in some way, and no-one bothered to call him on it.

7. I don't get to see the show often ...
but the one I did see had me incredibly confused(love/hate). It was the episode with Joe Biden, Tommy Thompson, Robin Williams and Don Cheadle. One minute he was talking about how Iraq is essentially 3rd world and then expressed surprise that people in Africa aren't living huts ... I have no idea where the hell he was coming from and spent some time screaming at the screen. The other part had me in tears laughing. Mostly because of Williams.

10. I think I remember him saying
he's part Jewish and part Catholic, though that doesn't explain his ethnic heritage.

12. Without the shreiking Canadian Lesbian Moslem Conservative
the show this week was more watchable, even with the two Republicans on. I think maybe some of the hatred expressed for Maher last week was also the result of anger directed at that crazy woman (and maybe at Maher for his inability to control his own show and allow others to speak). But the Iraq war to me, out of all the many points of contention I have with the Bush Administration, is my number one concern. I still don't agree with Bill Maher on his praise of Bush. I did hear Maher somewhat backtrack this week however on his opinion of Bush's handling of the war, in saying that the actual results of Democracy in Iraq (and whether Bush did the right thing) might only be seen quite a few years down the line. I liked his line of "Laura, get my flightsuit" when talking about Bush's efforts to save his DOA social security offensive.

Bill Maher now has a "bi-partisan" audience on HBO's Real Time. He still manages to squeeze in a Gannon punchline.

Video in Real Media format (4 minutes)

18. Maher backed down after the backlash for his 9-11 comments.
He has not been on point ever since. I have no use for him.
