I think arguments can be made both ways.

I just wish I could be a fly on the wall if it happens.

They're going to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to transport what is essentially a corpse to the Capitol? What the hell do they expect to do when she gets there?

If it happens, it could backfire. Seeing the reality of contracted joints, atrophied muscles, and random movements and expressions is quite different from viewing a cherrypicked video.

People with PVS have reflexes that make it appear they're responsive. They twitch, moan, cry and blink. The thing is, they do this regardless of external stimuli and regardless of who's around, if anyone is around at all. But it's easy to project your own hopes onto them.

Will they issue a failure to appear arrest warrent if she doesn't appear? I feel bad that this woman is a veg and worse for her husband (hey Republicans what happened to all your high talk about the sanctity of marriage?) - but I have to say the thought of Terri testifying before congress is the most deliciously absurd moment of '05!
