WHAT is going on now w/ budget on C-SPAN2 RIGHT NOW??

I didnt even know they were STILL there at this hour. Are they finalzing the vote on the budget?? Are they passing the budget??

1. About an hour ago they still had 27 amendments to vote on,

7 on the repub side and 20 on the dem. Conrad(nd?) said they would be there until 2AM, at least. Happy St. Patty's day senators.

2. They are just now wrapping up. I just got back, I'm looking

for the entire budget/vote list... must not be posted yet.

3. So..

They r voting for EACH amendment of the budget 2nit?? Is that correct?? Also, get a load of Frists St. Pattys day atire. Tacky green shiny tie w/ a shamrock lapel pin.

4. They are voting on a Resolution, not the final budget. They will

still be doing Amendments tonight.

This Resolution doesn't go to the President or anything.

I thought it was the entire budget also - until C-span had some text saying differently at the bottom of the screen.

5. This is the part that gets soooooooo confussing...

There is another budget sponsored by congress itself--in addition to the Prez budget. There will be committees yet and other gobbledygook I just don't understand.... I worry about what happens behind closed doors.=o/

Anyway, a couple of amendments I was interested in did pass. Yessssssss! 'Twas a small victory but something to hang my hat on for sleep tonight.
