The RICO Campaign for
Survivor Justice Petition
Because justice for sexual abuse survivors of Roman Catholic priests and bishops will not come from within the Roman Catholic Church, The RICO Campaign for Survivor Justice Petition is underway.

The goal of this petition is to demand that the Federal Government begin a RICO investigation of the Roman Catholic Church in the United States.

There is statutory authority for dealing with collective criminality — the Racketeer Influenced Corrupt Organization Act. The Roman Catholic Church as a corrupt organization enabled criminal activity and conspiracy by its bishops through their cover ups of the sexual abuse of children and youth for over the past 50 plus years.

The church did not make, as it claims, “mistakes in management” by shuffling its clerical predators from parish to parish. Bishops made deliberate and determined decisions to protect sexual predators and leave thousands and thousands of children at risk.

4. I'm not a big fan of RICO

because I see it used in obscenity prosecutions to wipe out companies by seizing their assets before a trial and conviction - and they trump the hell out of the charges anyway in order to qualify for RICO.

That being said, I signed the petition. I think that the hierchy of the church did willfully protect sexual predators and used the power and organization of the church to do so. This would be one of the few times that the RICO laws would be applied correctly in a long time.

a wonderful thing trying to get attention to this matter.
I was abused as a child and have been raped as an older teenager so I understand to well. Although, not dealth with at the time I am 45 now and have worked thru all of , well as much as one can.
Anyhow, the Catholic Church officals absolutely blow my mind.
Keep fighting for the ones who can not fight this battle.
