It's time to legalize Industrial Hemp
for the last century industrial hemp was banned mainly to protect the oil, paper and cotton industries.

In the face of diminishing sources of cheap oil and global warming, it is time to legalize industrial hemp. There is simple no good reason not to.

Maybe then we wouldn't need to drill in Alaska or invade and occupy other countries?

2. Of course, now it's banned
because they are afraid someone might find a way to get high on it.

Seriously, hemp would be a wonderful renewable resource for paper, cloth...the list goes on and on. As a crop it requires very little, if anything, in the way of fertilizers, pest control, etc. A very economic and useful crop.

5. Soon we won't have a choice
we will have to legalize it. Keeping the sheeple fed and warm is essential in order to maintain civil order.

BTW: Welcome to DU :hi:

12. proof that the wingnuts aren't very bright,
if they legalized all of it, we would be too busy shopping and eating to notice anything they're doing. Hey now, hold on, :tinfoilhat: prozac valium, so on , so on, I think I see something here . . .

15. Here's one 'fact' from the link I posted
5) According to the Department of Energy, hemp as a biomass fuel producer requires the least specialized growing and processing procedures of all hemp products. The hydrocarbons in hemp can be processed into a wide range of biomass energy sources, from fuel pellets to liquid fuels and gas. Development of biofuels could significantly reduce our consumption of fossil fuels and nuclear power.

3. It's PAST time to legalize it
I couldn't agree more with your post. Unfortunately, people are so brainwashed that clear, intelligent thought is lost to most of them. It seems we are really just out to "stupid ourselves to death" as a species, so nobody cares. Sucks.

7. LOL!
"stupid ourselves to death" I love it! would you mind if I borrow that one? I am in total agreement. People have been fed so much bullshit about this they take it as fact, a minimal amount of research will show this is obviously about corporate income.

10. How to "stupid yourself to death" - A guide to being Republican
Hehehe. Sure man, help yourself. There's been alot of talk about the "dumbing down" of our nation for awhile now. I never thought that it would ultimately lead to our destruction. But that was before the stolen elections of 2000 and 2004, our murderous rampage in Iraq, torture, foxnews, massive propaganda, etc. Now, I'm not so sure. Doh!

9. We could save millions of dollars very easily
by printing our money on paper with hemp content, like many other countries do. That way, it last longer and doesn't have to be replaced as often. Just the fact that we're paying unnecessary millions because of some Hearst-inspired frenzy from the 1930s disgusts me.

11. But then we wouldn't need
all those ugly tree farms.

We have them all over north Florida. 1000's of acres of pine trees all in nice straight rows. I think it takes about 10 - 20 years to harvest a tree crop. All that land could have been left in it's natural state or used for a better purpose.

13. People should study on hemp oil for nutrition
For the DEA to issue its "final ruling" in an attempt to ban the most nutritious food shows how eat up the PTB are over their drug war. Americans have a diet that lacks proper levels of Omega-3 EFAs and they also eat to much Omega-6 EFAs. People would do well to study up on this and I can think of no better thing for my health than hemp oil unless it is using Stevia as a sweetener and using cinnamon to curb sugar hunger.

Legal laughing grass would have many benefits including reducing the harms of alcohol and addictive presently-illegal drugs and is an absurdity as policy. Illegal hemp is more absurd and shows lack of all reason in determining policy.

Sure hemp should be legal, but people should be outraged at a government that called for its prohibition and the one that cannot admit there is no justification for its present prohibition. Prohibition lives because of blissful ignorance.

16. It's been way past time for a long time.
But we ain't gonna see it happen so long as the Repubs control everything.

May as well save your breath for the Non-Industrial product and inhale deeply.
