Imagine if Al Gore were President.....
How different, how much BETTER things would be, including for most of the repulochristianfascists who love the chimp so much. No war in Iraq, no huge tax cuts for the wealthy, no huge budget deficit, sane and sensible energy and environmental policies that might actually include real initiatives to create alternative energy sources, another attempt at real and meaningful health care reform.

I could go on but I don't need to.

Just imagine........

1. And you think we wouldn't have Giuliani as president right now?
He would have been crucified for 9/11.

2. Yes, you're right, but....
maybe 9-11 would not have happened. Maybe the Gore administration would have impletmented the plan on the table to go after Al Quaeda in Afghanistan and disrupted the operation.

But if it did happen, who knows who would be President now.

3. Gore would have read the Hart-Rudman report
and the August 6, 2001 PDB. He would have decided that it WAS specific enough (yes, Condi, I'm talking about you), and we would have been on alert--this time with a good reason.

4. The question is if that would have been enough to stop it.
I'd give it maybe a 50-50. Things were quite in motion by August 2001.

5. I don't know if ANYONE could have stopped 9/11...
but we would at least know that President Gore did everything he could to stop bin Laden before he got us.

I do know one thing, though--that if it did happen, Gore's administration would have pursued bin Laden with a good plan and an appropriate number of troops.

6. If he didn't resign after 9/11, yes.
But nonetheless, he would be remembered as the man who let us get attacked, and the Democrats as the party that let us get attacked.

7. God, I wish we could go back
We will never be able to undo the damage this administration has done, if we can even get all of the brainwashed to see the damage.
